It’s pretty amazing when you look up from the bottom of Antelope Canyon! With a bit of imagination, the steep canyon walls can form all kinds of interesting shapes—like the view of a river from above, a cat ready to pounce, a giant T or X, a mouse with a short tail, or even the Batman signal. Nature can create incredible sights when given enough time!

Finally made it to Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona!
Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe these narrow and deep sandstone slot canyons. The way the sunlight reflects off the walls creates ribbons of orange, yellow, and the full spectrum of reds — a glowing, shifting display that’s absolutely gorgeous and continuously changing.
Being like a kid in a candy store, I took over 3,200 shots in the three hours we were there. I mainly utilizing my Nikon D500 with an 8mm ultra‑wide lens, shooting straight up and capturing a 189‑degree view of the awesomeness above our heads!

I was there, so of course I had to photograph Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River outside Page, Arizona. The image was created from 12 series of 4 bracketed shots at 14mm, f/22, ISO with a white balance of 4550, each series taken at 15-degree intervals for a total of 48 exposures, and I did this 15 times to get the light I wanted for over two plus hours.....all while defending my prime spot—1,000 feet above the river—from visitors from all over the world, including Chinese, Indian, French, German, Russian, Latin, and one particular Italian man who somehow assumed I spoke his language fluently. I calmed them down by offering to take photos of them with their cell phones, which delighted them. Photo diplomacy works every time!
