Truly, narrowing down these photos was so difficult. As your photographer, I strive to keep our sessions light, and fun and comfortable. It was a super hot day when we took these, but I think they turned out wonderfully! Ava + Zack - I am so excited to shoot your wedding next September!

Cindy + Craig

Last week, I had the pleasure of capturing Cindy & Craig’s wedding. They got married with their closest family and friends at First-Plymouth Church followed by a reception at the Rococo Theatre - Craig has been in a band throughout his life, and he spent the latter part of the evening on stage singing. All the men also wore full Scottish ceremonial kilts, and I must say they looked quite dapper 🙂 Cindy had a beaming smile all day long!

A little personal post today because these two are familiar faces from my book club, and I was so happy to get them in front of my camera.

Dru and Mandy recently opened their own therapy practice together in Lincoln, and we took these portraits to help them show up online in a way that feels professional but still approachable.

Need extended family photos? I got you 🙌

Yes, I like capturing some more documentary style moments, but honestly? I really like classic photos of everyone standing, looking at the camera and smiling. I feel like it makes a photo more intentional, especially when it comes to extended families and big groups.

If you want extended family photos (this usually extends to groups of 6+), then I don’t really care if there are 6 of you or 20. You have my time and expertise for an hour/hour and half to capture all those important people in your life ( - trust me! This is enough time 🙃) We will try to get every combination of family member you want together - each with the classic “smile and look here” photo as well as some prompted “moment” photos.

I shot these photos for a dear friend of mine last May here in Lincoln. This is a just snippet- this family ended up with a very very full gallery with all kinds of variations in location and people!

I’ve been clocked out for a couple of years longer than I had anticiapted. Before having my third daughter, my photography and business was really starting to take off! Weddings & families were my jam. I thought I could juggle both a small business and being a stay-at-home mom, but the truth is, growing and raising a family is all I’ve ever wanted and I refused to miss a thing 🥹

However, our littlest is off in part time school now, I feel the “baby/toddler fog” slowly lifting and I am just starting to truly feel like myself again. Barbara. Not ONLY mom, but the nudge to do more for myself is growing. Every time I pick up my camera, meet new people, receive positive feedback about a session - it gives me further validation that this is it. This is my creative world coming to life… and I want to share this world with others.

When I’m clocked in, you will find me exuding a quiet confidence, radiating a calming energy in the room, giving direction, guiding you on natural poses and prompts and assuring you that as weird as my prompts are- you are looking great in the photos.

When I’m clocked out, you will find me at our beautiful tudor house, with my husband and three beautiful daughters, attending book club (that I founded) + movie club with my friends, baking sourdough, traveling, and going to rock/metal concerts with my best friend 🫶🏻

Sharing this sweet engagement session from the archives because it is still such a good reminder that your photos can feel relaxed and natural.

Engagement sessions do not have to feel stiff or overly posed. A little movement, a little direction, some good light— that is usually where the best photos happen.

A well-planned proposal does not need to feel like a production. Collin kept it simple, surprised Bayley by thinking they were just out to see some horses at a friend’s stables, and let the moment speak for itself.

I approach proposals the same way I approach weddings—minimal intrusion, and documenting what actually happens rather than directing it. I do always make sure to get some posed “smiley” shots in addition to candid photos.

There are moments, as a photographer, when you just can’t wait to get home and go through your photos on the big screen. It is amazing to see how different people can photograph the same person or same scene in completely different ways - from the way they edit to how they capture a specific moment. I personally love to capture close up moments, and by default always lean toward vibrant, true to color photos ✨

I walked away with so many perfect little moments from today’s hosted shoot. I cannot wait to share more in the coming days 🥹
