While returning from a pump test at the Nassau Fire Service Academy, Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department Engine 255 came upon a house fire on Merritts Road in Farmingdale about 21:30 on July 20, 2026. They immediately notified Nassau County Firecom who alerted the Farmingdale Fire Department. Engine 255 secured a hydrant and stretched a line to the rear of the two story house where the fire was burning up the exterior and extending into the garage and attic. Chief of Department Tortoso arrived and transmitted a working fire. Engine 921 arrived and secured a second hydrant and that crew stretched a second line as other memebrs took over the line from Engine 255. When additional crews arrived, a third line was stretched if needed. Ladder 926, Bethpage Ladder 3, and North Amityville Quint 1-7-3 set up in front of the house. The fire was brought under control within an hour and all searches were negative. The occupants home at the time exited the house safely and there were noreported injuries. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Amityville, Bethpage, Hicksville, Massapequa, and Plainview Fire Departments and the East Farmingdale and North Amityville Fire Companies. Wantagh-Levittown Ambulance Corps also sent an Ambulance to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Wyandanch Fire Company was alerted for a reported house fire on Waterford Drive about 13:00 on July 14, 2026. Engine 1-10-3 was the first unit on scene and reported smoke showing from a one story home. Second Assistant Chief Benitez arrived shortly after, followed by Chief of Department Ron who took command of the scene and transmitted a working fire. Engine crews from 1-10-1 and 1-10-3 stretched two lines with one going into operation to extinguish the fire in a front room of the home. The crew from Quint 1-10-4 searched and vented the home with all searches being negative. The fire was brought under control within an hour with one resident of the home suffering from smoke inhalation. That person was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital by Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corps. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the North Babylon Fire Company, Dix Hills and West Babylon Fire Departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The South Farmingdale and Farmingdale Fire Departments were alerted for a dual response to a reported roof fire in the vicinity of Main Street and Birch Avenue just after 12:00 on July 14, 2026. Second Assistant Chief Daly arrived first and reported solar panels on the roof of a one story home on Birch Avenue were burning and extending into the attic. Chief of Department McFarlane arrived shortly after and transmitted a working fire. Farmingdale Engine 921 was first due and had a hydrant across from the house. Bethpage Ladder 3 set up in front of the house. Engine crews stretched and operated two lines to extinguish the fire and bring it under control within an hour. All searches were negative and there were no reported injuries. Additional mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Massapequa and North Massapequa Fire Departments and the East Farmingdale Fire Company. Nassau County OEM also sent their MERV due the high heat and humidity as a cooling place for the firefighters if needed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The West Babylon Fire Department was called to a reported vehicle fire on Raynor Street about 20:45 on July 12, 2026. Chief of Department Allen, Assistant Chiefs Manzi, Fischer, and Zugajewicz responded along with Engines 1-9-3, 1-9-8 Ambulance 1-9-23 and Fire Police 1-9-5. One line from Engine 1-9-3 was used to extinguish a small fire in the engine compartment and underneath a Dodge Dakota pick up truck that was parked in front of a home.

The Levittown Fire Department took multiple calls reporting a house fire on Rope Lane about 18:30 on July 8, 2026. Engine 627 arrived first and reported smoke showing from a two story home, a working fire was transmitted soon after. Engine crews stretched two lines from 627 with one going into operation to extinguish fire on the second floor of the home. Ladder 626 set up in front of the house and that along with the crew from Ladder 621, laddered, searched, and vented the home with all searches being negative. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to one room. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Bethpage, Wantagh, and East Meadow Fire Departments. Levittown Chief of Department of Department Angelletta was in command of the scene.

The Bay Shore Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Lockwood Road in the dead end off Penataquit Avenue just before 06:00 on July 8, 2026. Chief of Department Ippolito and Second Assistant Chief Voges were the first to respond. The Chiefs were told by their dispatcher that Suffolk County Police were on scene reporting a fire. Chief Ippolito then reported he had smoke visible from a distance and transmitted a working fire upon his arrival, with the second floor and attic fully involved and fire through the roof of a two story home. Engine 3-1-3 was first due and had a hydrant on Penataquit Avenue, that crew put the first line into operation. Once Ladder 3-1-7 got onto the scene, the crew from Engine 3-1-5 could supply 3-1-3. Engine crews operated three lines to knock down the fire from the exterior before making entry to extinguish remaining pockets of fire. Searches of the home resulted in three cats being rescued, all occupants had exited the house safely. The fire was declared under control in about 90 minutes with one firefighter suffering burns to the legs, that member was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Islip, East Islip, West Islip, and Lindenhurst Fire Departments. Bay Shore-Brightwaters Ambulance Corps., Brentwood Legion Ambulance, and Islip Exchange Ambulance provided EMS coverage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Massapequa Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Bayview Place about 04:45 on July 3, 2026. Chief of Department Zimmerman arrived on the scene quickly and transmitted a working fire and had fire showing from the rear of a two story home that extended to the first and second floors. Engine 6311 was first due and had a hydrant across from the house. Ladders 632, 636 and Seaford Ladder 683 set up in front of the house. Engine crews put at least two lines into operation to extinguish the fire on the exterior and both floors of the home. All searches were negative, the occupants home at the time exited the house safely. The fire was brought under control in about an hour with one firefighter and one resident being evaluated at the scene. Additional mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Wantagh, Bethpage, Bellmore, Amityville, and South Farmingdale Fire Departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

While some units were operating in near 100 degree temperatures at a brush fire on the Sagtikos Parkway, the Brentwood Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Louise Drive about 14:50 on July 2, 2026. Ex-Chief Renison (Safety Officer 7) arrived and reported smoke showing from a one story unoccupied home and transmitted a working fire and had fire in the attached garage. Engine 3-2-6 was first due and had a hydrant before the house and that crew put the first line into operation. Ladder 3-2-8 arrived and set up in front of the house, that crew and the crew from Heavy Rescue 3-2-18 searched and vented the home with all searches being negative. A second was stretched into the house when additional engine crews arrived. The fire was brought under control within an hour with no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Bay Shore Fire Departmentfor RIT, the Deer Park Fire Department for a Ladder and the West Islip Fire Department for an Engine. Brentwood Legion Ambulance provided EMS coverage and due to the high heat Suffolk County sent their MERV in case it was needed to help keep the members cool. Ex-Chief Renison was in command of the scene.

The North Babylon Fire Company was alerted for a house fire on Colonial Road about 17:35 on June 28, 2026. First Assistant Chief Elco arrived and had fire in the garage of a two story home. Chief of Department Alt arrived shortly after and transmitted a working fire after the fire condition in the garage rapidly increased causing the garage to become fully involved. The fire extended out of the garage and went up the front of the house with extension to the second floor. Engine 1-8-4 was first due and had a hydrant past the house. Ladder 1-8-6 set up in front of the house and that crew began searches of the home which were negative, the occupants home at the time exited the house safely. Engine crews stretched and operated two lines and had the fire knocked down quickly and under control within an hour. Two firefighters were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor burns and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the West Babylon, Babylon, West Islip, and Deer Park Fire Departments and the East Farmingdale Fire Company.

The North Massapequa and Massapequa Fire Departments were alerted for a dual response to a house fire on North Central Avenue at about 13:30 on June 21, 2026. North Massapequa Chief of Department Ferrante had smoke visible from a distance and transmitted a working fire on his arrival. The fire was reported to be an exterior that spread into the first floor of a two story home. Massapequa Engine 6311 was first due and had a hydrant across from the house on North Walnut Street. That crew put the first line into operation to knock down the fire on the exterior quickly. As other engines arrived two additional lines were stretched. Ladder 661 set up on the corner as Massapequa Ladder 632 and Seaford Ladder 683 set up in front of the house. Those crews, laddered, searched, vented the home with all searches being negative. The fire was under control within an hour with no reported injuries. Additional mutual aid to the scene was provided by the South Farmingdale, Farmingdale, Wantagh, Levittown, and Plainview Fire Departments for a Working Truck, FAST Truck, Engines and an Ambulance. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
