Hi, I’m Sherry 🤎

I thought it was about time I introduced myself and the person behind the camera!

I’m a full-blood Lakota woman, born and raised in Nebraska, and Nebraska has always felt like home. I’ve spent most of my life here, with a few adventures in Colorado and North Dakota along the way. Today, I’m back in Nebraska, living on a lakeside resort with my high school sweetheart—and a whole lot of animals!

Our little piece of paradise is home to dogs, cats, fainting goats, mini pigs, chickens, cows, ducks, geese, a pony, and a mini donkey. 🐴🐖🐓🦆

My love for photography actually started years ago while I was living in Colorado. I had a film camera in my hands and began photographing powwows. There was something about capturing the people, movement, traditions, and moments that drew me in.

When I moved to North Dakota, my photography really began to take off. What started with a film camera and a love for capturing moments slowly grew into something much bigger. Today, photography has become a way for me to tell stories, preserve memories, and capture the things—and people—that matter.

I’ve always loved horses and grew up with them and on them. I love the prairie, the water, the western lifestyle, animals, and those authentic moments that can’t always be posed.

I also love attending powwows and learning more about my Lakota culture. I didn’t grow up surrounded by my culture, so reconnecting with it and continuing to learn has become something very meaningful to me.

When I’m not behind my camera, you’ll probably find me working on some kind of craft. I love beading and making jewelry, creating tallow products for the skin, and—more recently—getting a little obsessed with sourdough! 😂

Photography has become a beautiful way for me to bring together so many things I love: people, animals, nature, culture, connection, and storytelling.

So whether you’re here for family photos, couples, seniors, horses, or simply to capture a special season of your life, I’m so glad you’re here.
