Hi friends! I want to reintroduce myself since it's been a while. I'm Blaine, the photographer behind Adaptation Photography.
I'm originally from upstate NY and my heart horse Lord of the Rings "Gandolf" is an OTTB from the Finger Lakes. No, I didn't name him, my old trainer (RIP Kevin) did, and no, I haven't yet watched LOTR. I'll have to get on that eventually.
Gandolf is actually the namesake to my business— his race name was Adaptation. He raced until he was 7yo, I was gifted him shortly after that (for my 13th birthday!! all the real horse girls know the feeling of every birthday wishing for a horse of their own), and now he's already 25! 🥹
I have considered myself an equestrian for over 20 years now, which is hard to believe, time really flies. We showed greens, hunters, and equitation for several years after building him from square one off the track with my amazing trainer (my mom!), and recently I fully retired G so he can spend the rest of his days grazing away.
I founded AP in 2022 because I love photographing the unicorns & heart horses we spend all our time with, and I find it a fun challenge to capture their beauty. I love to photograph other things too, just for the opportunity to learn and grow my work.
We are so grateful to be living in Maine— it truly feels like home. Thanks for following and supporting AP ✨️🐎
