Just before 9pm, Manheim Township Fire Rescue responded to Bent Creek Drive for a reported structure fire. Engine 203 arrived and reported heavy smoke showing from the roof of a multi-story dwelling. Crews quickly made entry and extinguished a fire in the attic of the house. The cause is under investigation.

Just after 10pm, LECC dispatched Lititz Fire Company to Sherry Drive in Warwick Township for a reported dwelling fire. Units arrived to find a mobile home well involved with fire. The crew from Engine 25-1 quickly put two handlines in service to darken down the bulk of the fire. Additional lines and extensive overhaul was required to fully extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.

Around 10am this morning, LECC dispatched Durlach/Mt. Airy Fire Company to 455 Camp Road for a reported building fire. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the ground floor of a building and made entry to extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.

Around 4am, LECC dispatched Penryn Fire Company to A&M Compost on Mountain Road in Penn Township for a reported building fire. Firefighters found a fire in a compost pile in the rear of the building. Extensive overall with both hand tools and heavy machinery was required to completely extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.

Around 7am, LECC dispatched Lititz Fire Company to the 700 block of West Lexington Road in Penn Township for a reported barn fire. WESC Deputy 8 arrived on scene and reported a working fire with smoke showing. Engine 25-1 and Engine 28 stretched a handline and made entry for fire attack. Engine 26 and Ladder 25 also made entry on the side of the barn with a second line to help extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.

There have been several barn and brush fires in Lancaster County today including this 2nd alarm barn fire along Peters Road in Upper Leacock Township. High winds have been fueling fires as well as pushing embers into nearby structures, brush, and fields.

Just after 2pm, LECC dispatched Manheim Township Fire Rescue to the 600 block of Millport Road for a reported barn fire. Dispatch reported they were receiving multiple calls for a large barn on fire. Multiple master streams were placed in service for a defensive attack on the fire. A tanker task force was requested but the fire stayed at one alarm. No one was hurt.

Just after 2pm, LECC dispatched Akron Volunteer Fire Company to the 600 block of Oak Street (Maple Farm Nursing Home) in Ephrata Township for a reported structure fire. Chief 12 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the basement of the building. Firefighters quickly stretched a line and extinguished the fire in the basement. The building was briefly evacuated. No one was hurt.

Just after 3pm, LECC dispatched Penryn Fire Company to the 1600 Block of North Penryn Road for a reported structure fire. Engine 28-1 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from a 40’ X 80’ barn. Firefighter initially advanced hand lines into the structure but were forced to go defensive before a second alarm and additional tankers were called. Eventually, heavy machinery was used to tear apart the building and extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.

Right around midnight, LECC dispatched Manheim Township Fire Rescue to the 300 block of Bloomfield Drive for a reported dwelling fire. Engine 203 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire showing from the roof above the garage and the working fire dispatch was requested. Ladder 204 and Truck 67 arrived and assisted with opening up the roof while Engine and Ladder 25 checked for fire in the garage. The fire was quickly brought under control, no one was hurt.

Just before 4:30pm, LCWC dispatched Lititz Fire Company to the 300 block of Cardinal Road for a reported house fire. Chief 25 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire with smoke showing. Engine 25-1 pulled the initial attack line to the front door. Once inside, they encountered hoarding conditions, requiring extra manpower for firefighters to reach and completely extinguish the fire. The cause is under investigation. No one was hurt.
