Self-Confidence Photo Challenge: Day 3 📸

As a photographer, I’m always behind the camera. That’s where I’m comfortable. That’s where I feel confident.

But I’m saying no more!

How can I expect my clients to be raw and vulnerable in front of my lens if I’m not willing to be raw and vulnerable myself?

How can I expect them to trust me, follow my silly prompts, let go, and truly feel in front of my camera if I’m not willing to do the same?

It’s 105° in North Texas, and believe me… people aren’t exactly knocking down the door for fall family photos right now. 😂

Most of my sessions are booking for October, so instead of sitting around waiting for cooler weather, I’m putting myself in your shoes.

We’re going to be vulnerable.
We’re going to get in front of the camera.
We’re going to embrace the awkward.
We’re going to laugh at ourselves.
And we’re going to remember that tomorrow isn’t promised.

So here’s to showing up exactly as we are — rolls, wrinkles, awkward poses, imperfect moments and all. ❤️

✨ My word for this season is VULNERABILITY. ✨

As a photographer, I expect my clients to trust me, follow my silly prompts, get a little uncomfortable, and be completely vulnerable with me so we can capture the real magic. 📸

But this season, I’m putting myself in YOUR shoes.

For the rest of September, I’m taking a photo of myself every single day. 😳

Putting myself in front of the camera. Getting uncomfortable. Embracing the awkward. And hopefully learning to see myself the way I see the people I photograph.

So… who wants to join me?! 🫶

Take a photo of yourself every day for the rest of September. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t even have to be posted.

Just show up. Be vulnerable. And let yourself be seen. ❤️

Took myself 1000% out of my comfort zone this morning. 🫣✨

Sometimes you just need to go topless in the woods to get grounded again. 🌿🤎

If you’ve been wanting to take photos but you’re thinking you’re not quite “camera ready”… girl, you never will be. 😂

There will always be something we think needs to change — the weight, the hair, the skin, the clothes, the timing.

So instead of waiting until we feel “ready,” let’s embrace where we are right now. Let’s celebrate the body we have, the season we’re in, and the beauty that exists beyond all those little insecurities we carry.

You don’t need to be perfect to be photographed.
You just need to show up. 📷✨

Photography is so much more than picking up a camera and pressing the shutter.

When someone tells me, “Your camera takes such nice pictures,” I always kindly say thank you. But in my head, I’m thinking about everything that happened before and after that photo was taken.

The calendar coordination that can be a nightmare in itself.
The style consulting.
Choosing the location.
Paying attention to every little detail before hitting the shutter—making sure every hair is in place, the pose feels natural, and the light is hitting just right.

And then there’s the editing.

Hours of going through images, making adjustments, second-guessing yourself, stepping away, coming back, and staring at the screen for so long that eventually the colors don’t even make sense anymore. 😂

Photography isn’t just about owning a nice camera.

It’s vision.
It’s preparation.
It’s patience.
It’s creativity.
It’s problem-solving.
And honestly… it’s a LOT of behind-the-scenes work that never makes it into the final image.

So when you see that one beautiful photo, just know there’s usually a whole story—and a whole lot of work—behind it. 📸✨
