This one is an ode to the day of details and the gorgeous work of who was the sister of the bride. As a vendors, we know the struggle of wanting to work or help with our friends weddings. We love to share our expertise but also want to enjoy a wedding as a guest. In this case, I think these sisters really nailed that balance. lovingly did the bridal party bouquets and did the rest of the wedding day florals and they all came together so great! I thought it was such a great way to incorporate her sisters beautiful work without the stress of “working” a wedding that you are also a guest at. To my vendors out there, how do you feel about working friends/family weddings?

I’m all for an epic mountain view, but sometimes all you need is an old outhouse for the backdrop of your wedding photos. But for real, is a gorgeous mountain wedding venue within an hour of Denver. 👌🏽
Also wanted to thank all my couples this year! You are all so amazing and I’m so thankful for your support and patience as I work my way through all the galleries. I’m still adjusting to my busiest season ever and right now turn around times are running about 1-2 behind schedule. I promise I’m chugging away over here creating beautiful things for you. ✨

I know couples that have woken on before the sun for big traditional weddings. But if you’re going to lose some beauty sleep on your big day, why not make it truly worth it and wake up for views like this. Elopement day logistics can look a little different. Hair and makeup is often done at an hour most would consider the middle of the night. Instead of heels and dress shoes, you start the day with hiking boots warm layers. You get in a little sweat as the sun starts to rise. Your dressing room is behind a few rocks, but don’t worry, no one else is up this early anyways. Once your all ready, take in the views and magic of sunrise with the person you love most and none of the distractions of a busy day. Don’t be afraid to break tradition and a plan a day that is 100% you.

A little bit of film from Alex and Brian’s engagement and mountain wedding last fall. Did you know engagement sessions are included in most of my wedding packages? I love the extra time with my couples and getting to know them better before the big day. Film is currently not promised in my packages but I almost always include a few snippets for my couples because it’s fun for me and I love the nostalgia it brings.

I’ve got shoots three days in a row this weekend! I’ve had a nice little break since the holidays but am definitely ready to get shooting. Ready for some portraits, a wedding, and engagement session and taking in all the sunsets all weekend.

I know it’s only January, but I’m so ready for warmer longer days, green grass, sunny park days, sunscreen and tan lines. Just a little mid week day dreaming over here. And patiently waiting to see this awesome couple tie the knot this fall.

Does the idea of engagement photos make you feel really uncomfortable? I can’t tell you how many couples “warn” me that they are awkward in front of the camera, or have never had professional photos taken, and the list goes on if the insecurities people have about photos. I get it. I do. I myself feel a bit out of my comfort zone when a camera is pointed at me. But as your photographer, it’s totally what I’m here for, to make engagement photos (or any session) an actually fun and enjoyable experience. My number one tip to couples is to think of your engagement session as a date night ( or maybe morning). During your session, let me document you doing something you love together. Getting ice cream, walking in your favorite park, or spending time outdoors with your pups. Maybe you want to adventure somewhere new with me or maybe we go somewhere you’ve been a million times that is special to you as a couple. If you are getting all dressed up for our session, plan something fun afterwards, drinks, a movie, or maybe more fitting to covid times, a cuddly date night at home. Whatever it is, make the day special if you can. And if you need a little liquid courage to get in front of the camera, that’s totally acceptable too. Let’s celebrate the commitment you are making with a little champagne or beer from your favorite brewery. I’ll cheers you with my camera. 🥂📸
