There’s a version of you that people have known for years.

And then there’s this version. The one who stopped apologizing. The one who finally rearranged her life around what she actually values. The one who walked into the studio and said: I’m ready.

This is what that looks like in black and white, on a wall, forever.

"I'm doing things that scare me now."

That's Ginger. She's run more than 30 marathons, including the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim and the Australian Marathon, which she ran solo last year. Her first trip alone, her first race alone, the first year of her life as just herself.

Running has held her messy self together since her thirties, and right now it's holding her into who she's becoming next.
She's been in our studio before. Last time she brought a chicken. This time she brought Blue, her Australian Shepherd and running partner of five years, and asked for images of the two of them in their running gear, medals and all.

Blue has logged every mile of Ginger's rebuild right alongside her. He was there for the hard year, the solo flight to Australia, the new townhouse she's finally decorating with art of her own choosing. This session is proof of that partnership, and proof of a woman who is done waiting to feel ready.

Ginger isn't easing into this next chapter. She's sprinting straight into it.

Ginger, thank you for letting us tell your story and for the inspiration. 🖤

Cole had never had a dog. Not once, not ever, until Birdie Mae.

Her husband wanted a hunting dog for the ranch. Birdie Mae had other plans: soft, small, and about as far from a ranch dog as a yellow lab can get. She was never supposed to end up on Cole's couch. But she ended up there anyway.

Now Cole says it herself: she's never had it all, until now.

We're booking October sessions for dogs--and their women. Link in bio.

Thank you to Cole and Birdie Mae for joining us in the studio. 🖤

She showed up knowing exactly who she is.

Play Like a Girl is for the girl who doesn’t need permission to take up space. It’s here for the the ones who already know how. She just needs the image to prove it.

This is our last call to be featured in this Play Like A Girl Book!

“I am re-recharging and restarting.”

She said this at 70. Let that land.

Leeann has been making music her whole life — country, jazz, gospel - but her eleventh album,
“Good God,” is the one that feels most like her.
She leads “hippie church” in Austin and “happy church” in Southern California. She bikes to Barton Springs almost every morning. She boogie boards with a women’s group three times a week on the coast.

She is not winding down. She’s accelerating.
When she walked into the studio, she came with her son Austin and two complete looks - stage clothes for one, white T-shirt and jeans for the other. Because both are completely, entirely her.

“If you can find someone who can capture your soul,” she told us, “that’s a real art.”
Leeann, we hope we came close.

Limited to 40 women this season. Now booking September sessions.

Leeann Atherton, we’re so glad you came into the studio with us.

Shelby Jo's Instagram handle is "drink your juice Shelby." It's a line from the film "Steel Magnolias," and it has a deeper meaning for her. Lyndi and her brother are both Type 1 diabetics, and that phrase has been echoed in her family for years. When she went looking for a heeler to bring home, the name had found her before the dog even did. Lyndi knew she would name her heart dog "Shelby."

Shelby came into her life from a woman in an Atwoods parking lot who had decided to stop breeding after losing her husband suddenly. She was crying when she handed Shelby over to her new guardian. Ten years later, that moment of heartbreak has transformed into one of the steadiest loves--as well as the most active companionship-- Lyndi has ever known.

Shelby is 51 pounds of energy, still quick, still herself, even as her coat pattern has changed with age. Lyndi wanted black and white portraits because they're timeless. But she also asked for one in color. A way to remember exactly what Shelby looks like right now, before more years pass.

That's the thing about loving a dog who's getting older. We go into it knowing we never get as much time with them as we wish we could have. It is so utterly bittersweet.

We're so glad Lyndi gave us this moment to capture with Shelby, silver coat, sharp eyes, and all.

Now booking August sessions. Link in bio. 🖤

Thank you with all of our hearts to Lyndi and for joining us in the studio!

She’s been told not to be “too much” for as long as she can remember.

Quieter. Less intense. Don’t be so competitive. It’s just a game.

Play Like a Girl exists because it was never just a game.

It’s the 5am practices and the injuries and the coach who believed in her and the parents cheering her on. It’s training through the hard days and still showing up because this is who she is, and she’s not shrinking it down for anyone.

When she steps in front of our camera, she doesn’t have to be anything other than exactly what she already is.

That’s the portrait. That’s the legacy.

"The light of my life."

That's how Chakshu describes Misstea, the Husky Chow mix a friend found wandering and abandoned a year and a half ago. Misstea needed time to trust people. She still does, actually. Ask Chakshu, and she'll tell you not to make eye contact until Misstea's ready for you.

But once she warms up, she's all energy and love, the kind of dog who turns car rides and glamping trips into main character moments.

Chakshu came to the studio with whimsical outfits and a big personality to match Misstea's. What we got was a session full of adventure, trust, and the kind of bond that takes real patience to build.

Now booking August sessions. Link in bio. 🖤

Thank you to Chakshu and Misstea for joining us in the studio. 🖤

Monica calls it her "peach era." It's a phrase she shares with her daughter, and it means something specific: vibrant, empowered, finally on the other side of a long climb.

Three years ago she lost her beautiful mom. That loss became the turning point for a health journey that changed how she sees herself completely.A decade of building her agency and a team who's grown right alongside her. They made sure she could be there for her mom, her family, and then, for herself. What a celebration!

This session came at exactly the right moment. Two kids stepping into their own new chapters, a business built from scratch with heart, and a woman who has more than earned the word peach.

Limited to 40 women. Now booking August sessions for our first "In Her Era" Exhibition. Link in bio. 🖤

Thank you Monica, we're thrilled you came into the studio with us. It was unforgettable and inspiring!

Every dog mom has a hundred photos of her dog and maybe two of herself.

Women & Dogs flips that. It’s black and white, it’s intentional, and it’s built entirely around the bond you already have, the one that gets you through hard days and celebrates the good ones.

Whether your dog is a puppy who won’t sit still or a senior who’s slowing down, this is the session that puts you both in the frame, together, the way it should have been all along.

Now booking August sessions. Link in bio. 🖤
