Maternity Leave Announcement

I’m officially on maternity leave starting today! 🤍 Little Parker decided he was ready to make his appearance a little earlier than planned, BUT thankfully, the doctors were able to stop things and keep him cooking a little longer. 🥹💙 Because he’s wanting to come early, my doctor has instructed me to essentially be on bed rest and take it very easy for the remainder of my pregnancy since I’ll be coming right back up there if I don’t. However, this bama heat does not help at all with being pregnant.

I’m so thankful for each and every one of my amazing clients for being so understanding and supportive during this season. My priority right now is getting as much rest as possible and preparing to welcome our sweet boy! I’ll be back behind the camera when the time is right, but for now, I’m soaking up these last few weeks with my growing family. 🤍

Cottage Minis are officially complete, and every gallery has been delivered! 🤍🌿

A huge thank you to each and every family, couple, and sweet little one who came out and trusted me to capture these memories. Your support of my small business means the world to me, and I loved spending time with each of you!

And somehow… we managed to beat a 40-minute thunderstorm & still got to do two sessions😂 The weather kept us on our toes, but everything worked out perfectly in the end, and I’m so thankful.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to officially close my books for the rest of 2026.

As I get closer to welcoming our sweet baby boy, I’ve realized it’s time to slow down and focus on my family. Between this Alabama heat, the constant rain we’ve been getting, and the challenge of rescheduling sessions around unpredictable weather, I’ve decided it’s best to step away a little earlier than planned.

If you already have a session booked with me, don’t worry—it will still be completed! I just won’t be accepting any new session bookings from today through January, with the exception of weddings and Christmas minis and booking for the new year.

To every client who has trusted me to capture your memories, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support of Rae’s Photography means more than you’ll ever know, and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you.

I’ll be spending the next few months preparing for Parker’s arrival, recovering, and soaking up this special season with my family. I can’t wait to be back behind the camera when the time is right. Thank you all for your understanding, kindness, and continued support. 🤍📸

There are some moments that remind me exactly why I love what I do… and this was one of them. 🤍

When Karsen reached out to The Upton House after they announced they were looking for a couple wanting to plan a surprise proposal, I had no idea I would get to be part of it too.

The sweetest part? Karsen specifically asked for me to photograph this moment. I’ve had the honor of capturing their story for years, and knowing he wanted me there to document the moment she said “yes” truly meant the world to me.

The Upton House created the most beautiful setup outside the chapel, and just as Karsen got down on one knee, it began to sprinkle. Some people might have worried about the rain, but we didn’t. If anything, it made the moment even more magical. They say rain is good luck, and I think it was the perfect way for God to remind us that some of life’s most beautiful moments don’t have to be picture-perfect to be unforgettable.

Congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs. Thank you for trusting me to preserve the beginning of your forever. What an incredible honor it has been to watch your story unfold over the years, and now to capture the start of your next chapter. 🤍💍
