Happy sabbath! It has been a minute. 😊

Early yesterday morning I went out on a shoot to try out some new neutral density filters and practice some new techniques.

I’m really happy with the results even though the lighting was less than ideal.

My goals were two-fold, to learn how to work with neutral density filters, and to try to acquire some good long exposure shots using the filters to later stack into an HDR image, and this is the result.

Obviously there is much room for improvement, but for a first try I am very happy with the results and excited by the possibilities these new filters and techniques will provide on future trips 👌

Photography for me has always been a visual outpouring of the soul. It’s not simply about the photo captured but the journey and frame of mind to snap the shot.

Most of my photography is of landscapes, natural beauty. These are usually spiritual places to me and moments in time forever frozen in digital format.

I am in continual search of thoughtful spots and places of solitude to sit amongst nature and lose myself to time, to sit and to ponder.

I try to capture such places where thought flowed, pondering occurred, and spiritual renewal happened in an effort to remember during the difficult times that I have gone out into the wilderness in search of myself and of God, and I have found both.

These photos serve as testimony to my journey and my continual search for rest and restoration.
