My New Year's resolution was to post more. And obviously, that didn't hold long. The doesn't mean I didn't take a lot of cool photos! So while we start 2025, I was to do some throwbacks to last year.

The theme of last year for me was "astronomical events." We were lucky enough to be able some cool things that I never thought I'd be able to see.

Last one for the week from my favorite show this season. Phantom Regiment was a favorite from when I saw them in June, and they brought it during finals. I got lucky with the flag kind of framing the soloist.

A 7th Regiment snare drummer hyping the crowd up before their seeding battle during the Soundsport Festival. They ended up winning the whole thing. Really cool seeing it as an alumni of the corps.

The Santa Clara Vanguard drum major conducts with just the right angle with the World Championships logo in the background.

This is the end of the Troopers show, where they "kill" the devil. Really cool use of staging to elevate them, because I would have no been able to see it from where I was standing across the field.

I've been really bad with posting photos this year, which is a shame because I've taken a lot. So now that I'm coming off a weekend at DCI Finals, I figured I'd post some photos this week.

This one is during the end of the Blue Devils show. I broke out the 16mm to try and get some starbursts with the lights. After a little editing, they really popped!

One more eclipse photo, this is what it looked like during totality. You could really feel the temperature change and the bird calling out like it was night. It was wild.

Haven't posted in a while, but the last couple weeks have really gotten me re-invigorated back into photography. So I figure I'll start with one of my favorite photos I've ever taken.

We were able to go down to Indianapolis for the eclipse the last couple of days, and it was absolutely breathtaking. These are some of my favorites.

1. "The Ring" right at the end of totality (It's an all-time favorite)
2. Roughly halfway to totality (if you zoom in, you can see a sunspot)
3. Totality with some coronal ejections if you zoom in
4. The moon halfway past the sun

LEGOs have become a new hobby of mine. It's amazing what can be done with a bunch of small bricks. This is the Disney100 Camera that Erin got me for Christmas. They're so fun to put together!

Another photo from our trip to Connecticut, this is Little Falls in Wadsworth Falls State Park. I realized hiking this state park that I totally short-changed Connecticut in terms of things to do outside. I wish I was back there more regularly at this part of life, where I am more active.

We were able to get back to Connecticut for a couple days, and we were able to get to see a pretty cool Christmas tree! This tree is made entirely from lobster traps, with about 450 traps and 454 bouys. It's a pretty unique tree!

One of my goals this year is to take more photos. Another one is to post more photos. I've been in a rut with photography the last six months. Different hobbies, work, and other things have gotten in the way. I'm hoping to break that this year.

Starting 2024 with a photo from a hike we took in Connecticut. The sun was hitting the train tracks just right.
