Today I’m sharing the story behind those changes, why I made them, and what’s coming next for JLP.

Over the last few months, I’ve spent a lot of time looking at JLP from the inside out.

I’ve been digging into what has truly worked, what hasn’t, where we’ve grown, and where we’ve been holding onto things that no longer fit. The result? Some exciting changes are coming, and I honestly cannot wait to share them with you.

If you’ve followed along since the beginning, you’ve probably noticed that since January my entire world has been turned upside down in the best and most challenging ways. Growth has a funny way of doing that. It stretches you, changes you, and sometimes forces you to take a hard look at who you are and who you’re becoming.

The truth is, I am moving away from who I thought I needed to be and stepping into who I really am. Not just as a business owner, but as a person.

What you’ll see from JLP moving forward is a more refined experience, a clearer vision, and a business that feels more aligned with the heart behind it all. Less noise. More purpose. More connection.

To those who have supported me from day one, thank you. To those cheering from afar, thank you. And to those who have been considering booking with me but haven’t quite found the right moment yet, this is for you too.

All I ask is that you give me the opportunity to show you what’s coming. I think you’re going to love where we’re headed.

The best chapters are still ahead.

A gentle reminder to newer photographers…

Just because someone approaches you about photographing an event does not automatically mean it’s a great opportunity.

Before saying yes, ask questions:

• What are the expectations?
• How many hours are involved?
• What is the turnaround time?
• Am I being compensated?
• Will this actually benefit my business?
• Is the exposure being offered measurable or just a promise?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with donating your time to a cause you believe in. Many of us do it. But there is a difference between volunteering because you want to and feeling pressured to provide hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of services simply because you’re newer in business.

Your camera, your time, your editing, your experience, and your expertise all have value.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries. And don’t be afraid to say no when something isn’t the right fit for your business.

The right opportunities will respect both your talent and your time.

Y’all, I am one proud photographer today. 😭❤️

Watching Miss Ella launch her own photography business has been such a special thing to witness. We got together for her branding session, and I spent most of the time smiling behind my camera because all I could think was, “Look at her go.”

Starting a business is scary. Trust me, I know. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that big dreams have to start somewhere.

Ella, thank you for trusting me to help bring your vision to life. I cannot wait to watch you grow, learn, create, and build something that is completely your own.

The future is bright, sweet girl. Go get it. 📸💕

People often think luxury photography is about expensive products, perfect outfits, or beautiful images.

But honestly?

The longer I’ve done this, the more I’ve realized it has very little to do with any of those things.

It’s about how people feel while they’re in front of the camera.

The confidence.
The comfort.
The trust.
The experience of being fully seen.

I wrote something personal today about what luxury photography truly means to me and the experience I want every JLP client to walk away with.

Your senior year deserves more than ordinary.

The JLP Senior Society was created for the girls who want more than a quick photo session. This is about celebrating your final year in a way that feels unforgettable.
