Kirk Saylin Studio

Kirk Saylin Studio Kirk Saylin Studio is a professional imaging solution for businesses. We create high quality images He is also a thinker, a tinkerer, and a car ju**ie.

Kirk Saylin is an advertising and commercial image maker based in Long Beach, California. His love of light and how it interacts with its surroundings to create shape and form keeps him motivated to create. He loves how light can change surfaces, show or obscure texture, give an object a message or feeling, and generally change the perception of our world around us. Kirk has worked for global agen

cies, as well as small boutique agencies, but his favorite clients are the ones who invite him into the creative process to visually illustrate the story that the brand needs to be told. He has photographed rock stars, pop culture models, and sheet metal that dreams are made of. He has created images by laying on the ground and hanging out of a helicopter and many things in between. "I love working with creatives, pushing the concept just a little bit further when I can, and having fun with the process. The best feeling is looking back at a finished image and realizing that it looks better than you had previously imagined, and then there is the longing for the next." Give him a call, send him an email or a tweet. Let's make this next job our favorite one yet.

This was shot in an empty warehouse with minimal equipment. This was all shot with direct strobe controlling the light spill. I love lighting challenges like this.

When the driver was unloading this amazing Aston Martin off the truck at my studio, he casually asked, "Do you want to shoot this with the top up, or the top down?" I said, "both why?" Then he told me the last time the prototype was photographed the top got stuck half way in between and they had to load it back on the truck that way.

The Mitsubishi Evolution shot on a rig bolted to the frame of the car with an arm reaching out 20 feet. All that speed was created by lots of neutral density filters, a long shutter speed and a single person pulling the car by a rope. Fun in advertising.
