10 days I live on auto pilot in what’s left of “normal” life: work, time with family, time to myself, monitoring news about war, conversations with friends and relatives about everything and nothing, crying every other day, getting angry at little things, feeling hopeful and hopeless at the same time. We still don’t know how things will unfold but what I know for sure is that the “normal” life as we know it will no longer exist. And it will impact everyone on this planet.

Feeling so humbled and thankful for this opportunity to tell my, our story in of what it takes to be a working parent in the age of pandemic though Madonna inspired photography by and on point storytelling of ☺️

I’m reading the commentaries to the post where people argue the terminology I used of stay-at-home vs working mothers and my decisions of Aslan’s extended breastfeeding, and it’s missing the true issue I wanted to highlight…

It’s the fact that in the most economically advanced country in the world, working parents of little children are in crisis. The pandemic brought to light how broken the system is.

You can’t mediate yourself out of this enormous stress. And having the most understanding and pulling equal load partner like my husband is not enough.

We can’t come out if this situation without any changes to paid parental leave, education system and affordable childcare. Companies should adopt hybrid and flexible ways of working as we have proven for two years the job can be done even with the biggest and sweetest distractions staying with us at home.

Working parents and women in particular should not be forced to leave or put on pause their aspirations because they can’t afford childcare or seen as less committed at work because they choose to have families.

As a myself, I’m always working to achieve that work / life balance. Being a photographer is my passion, but being a mom = the job of a lifetime 💕💕

For us set, we’re not only businesses, but we also tend to work primarily with other fempreneurs as well! While many men tend to connect with the logical aspect of promotions / advertising tactics, women connect with + interact primarily based on their EMOTIONAL RESPONSE.
IF YOU CAN GET YOUR AUDIENCE TO EMOTIONALLY CONNECT, THEY’RE MORE LIKELY TO ENGAGE + PURCHASE!
This is one of top reasons that is SoOoOo effective. As opposed to product-based photography and advertising, which starts with a static project and tries to elicit an emotional connection from you with that product, PBP starts with YOU, a unique, living, emotional lady with your own incredible personality, just waiting to be captured.
