I sit here quietly,
waiting for the silence of my soul to speak,
creating within me a connection so deep.

Writing through the trees,
singing,
watching fallen leaves.

Photographing the things that remind me of the days before,
picking up pieces that never were,
watching youth grow tall and lean,
strong —

wanting to be fully present
and remembering it all.
