To our beloved community.
The Carpenter family has strived for the last 50 plus years to provide the island with goods services needed for the community to grow and thrive. Bill Carpenter was gracious enough to bring Richard Brown into the family business in 2004. Since then, we have tried to listen to the needs of our community and built the new store in 2010.
It is with great joy and sadness that we inform you that the Carpenter / Brown families have finally decided to retire. With that said, we have sold the store, and the Marcott Family will take possession on the 17th of June. We did not take this decision lightly, however due to Richards current health the stress is just too much anymore. Making sure we sell to the very best and that will continue to grow as the island grows has been our priority.
We understand that there have been many rumors, and until now have not been able to address them due to confidentiality clauses.
Marcott’s are a family-run business and feel the same passion for serving the communities they represent. They have several years of experience that will complement the current store and create many new opportunities for the island. Keeping current employees is also a top priority. New faces will soon come to the island to meet the employees and watch how the day-to-day operation is done.
The Marcott’s are very excited to get to know and be part of our friendly island.
