Andrew & Jordynn’s Mount Baker National Forest Elopement ⛰️🌄

Their adventurous all day summer elopement was an absolute blast! Their day was focused on doing the things they love together while still having a relaxing stress free day and enjoying every moment together.

🥾💫 Picture this: You start off the day at 2:30 am in the pitch black with your headlamp at the trailhead and hike your way up to the mountaintop. Once at the top you relax and stargaze for a meteor shower watching the shooting stars go by. As the sun rises you say your vows and exchange rings while watching the sunrise. We take the most epic photos ever and you have a little picnic while enjoying the views. You hike back down the mountain and see the beautiful wildflowers you didn’t see when it was dark. Then you take a nap/lunch break for the whole afternoon.

Evening is here and we meet up at another breathtaking location for the sunset, play in the snow a bit, explore around and take some more epic portraits. We finish off the night stargazing again and get the most incredible milky way photos!

I still have some summer availability left for more elopements in 2024! Link in bio to inquire so you can set up a time to chat with me 📧

Here’s some tips for eloping in Big Sur 🌊🌲

1. Time of year to elope- April until November has pretty mild climate usually with some possibility of rain on either end of the season. Wildfire season is usually late summer until fall so keep that in mind. Springtime brings a bunch of gorgeous calla lilies which usually bloom from late January until April and make a stunning backdrop for photos. Winter months can bring heavy rain and lead to road closures so I’d advise to not plan around that time.

2. Best days of the week to elope- Eloping on a weekday if possible is the best time to elope due to it being less crowded. If you are eloping on public land permits are only permitted from Monday-Thursday. Vendors also typically have more weekday availability since traditional weddings are usually held on weekends.

3. Public versus private land- Private land isn’t owned by the government so this would be locations like Airbnbs, restaurants, and venues/hotels. Eloping on private land offers a lot of benefits such as not having to get a permit or limit hours, maximum privacy, and less guest restrictions. Eloping on public land like State Parks can be a good option because of its low cost fees and gorgeous views. However, there is less privacy and there’s different rules and restrictions for each park.

4. Hire me as your elopement photographer 😜 I know Big Sur really well and can help you plan your whole day so you can have an amazing elopement! ⁣I will send you location recommendations, local vendors, and give you lots of tips for the area!

Here’s some tips for eloping in Joshua Tree National Park ✨ 🌵 ⁣

1. Schedule your elopement during the spring or fall time (October - early May) and on a weekday if possible. Seasons in the desert are extreme and it can get very cold and hot. The park can also get very crowded depending on the season so it’s a lot better to elope on a weekday!⁣
2. Book a cute Airbnb to add to the experience! Joshua Tree has some really unique Airbnb’s where you can spend the night or week at. You can find the perfect Airbnb to match your vibe for your getting ready photos! ⁣
3. Obtain a special use permit! If you plan to get legally married in the park you need to obtain a special use permit. It’s a $120 fee and only certain areas in the park are permitted for ceremonies.
4. Hire me as your elopement photographer 😜 I know Joshua Tree really well and can help you plan your whole day so you can have an amazing elopement! ⁣I will send you location recommendations, local vendors, and give you lots of tips for the park!

I still have some availability for more Joshua Tree elopements in 2024! Inquire through the link in my bio 🤍

Here’s a few facts about me:

🏞️ I was born and raised in Southern California and enjoy hiking when I have a chance to get out! I love a mix of a little bit of city with a lot of nature.

🍵 I’m not a big coffee drinker anymore, but I do love me a good honey matcha latte! Anyone else a matcha fan over coffee??

🏋🏻‍♀️I love weightlifting and cooking up yummy healthy meals when I have a chance!

📸 I’ve been doing photography since 2015. I started with doing a lot of portraits/lifestyle photos, but fell in love with photographing elopements!

Did you know that as your elopement photographer I give you unlimited planning assistance? Here are a few things I help you with when you chose me:

You'll also be prepared for the weather so that you can be present on your day. I'll also send a Leave No Trace guide so that you can make sure that you're carrying for the environment during your elopement!

✨ Unlimited Consultation and Planning Assistance - From the moment you book me we'll start planning your elopement together. Anytime you have an idea or question you can shoot me an email. It's super easy! My job is to make this experience as easy and stress free for you as possible. Don't worry, I'll do all the hard work 😉

✨Optional Complimentary Officiant Services- I am an ordained officiant and can legally sign your wedding license in most U.S. states. If you're wanting someone to lead you through the ceremony I can also recommend officiants to you!

In my next post I'll make a continuation of the things I help you with as your elopement photographer!

Still one of my favorite adventure sessions to this day! We started out the afternoon in Moab with a little off-roading to get to an epic location that we had all to ourselves, and we even saw some deer! The sunset was absolutely beautiful and blue hour illuminated a perfect crescent moon in the sky. The night ended with us taking some gorgeous stargazing photos. This was definitely a day to remember!

When you work with me as your elopement or adventure session photographer I help you find off the beaten path locations so you don’t have to worry about crowds and if the lighting will be right! I also assist you in obtaining necessary permits so you don’t have the stress of figuring out which ones you need, and you can enjoy your elopement day worry free.

Thinking about eloping in Yosemite National Park? Yosemite is a really popular park to elope in! It has huge granite walls surrounding a gorgeous valley and amazing views all around. There’s a little adventure for everyone here! Here are some tips on how to elope there! ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
1. Pick a date/season - You can elope in Yosemite anytime of the year! The park is beautiful in summer, but extra busy and hot. Spring is a great time to elope if you're looking to have waterfalls in your photos! Winter is the least crowded since Glacier Point Road is closed and you'll have less locations options, but the valley is perfect. Fall is magical with the leaves changing colors. Mid/late October is a great time if you're looking for good weather and fall colors. During November you'll start to see road closures so keep that in mind.

2. Apply for a permit - this can be done up to a year in advance. You’ll want to apply as soon as you can to get first pick on your location.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
3. Hire an experienced elopement photographer to help guide you - if you hire an experienced elopement photographer like me, I assist with the planning process, which can be overwhelming especially if you you’ve never been to Yosemite!
⁣⁣⁣
4. Keep in mind Yosemite isn’t super close to any major cities so vendors you hire will most likely be traveling in. This usually means paying a little bit extra which is worth it for your dream vendors! ⁣⁣

If you’re getting married in a National Park one of the first things you should do is submit an application for a wedding special use permit! ⁣

Each National Park has a special use permit page that you can check to see rules and regulations for that park. Usually you can submit your applications up to a year in advanced. Some National Parks are a lot more crowded than others so submitting an application should be one of the first things you do ✔️⁣

Permits granted might be limited according to how many were requested for that day and what part of the park you’re requesting. Keep in mind that you will still have to pay for entry into the park on top of the special use permit. ⁣

While getting a permit may not be the fun part of eloping, it’s important! It’s an essential part of the process in order to keep National Parks protected 🤍
