The eye catching exterior of !

After seeing this amazing structure on Instagram I really wanted to stay there. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) it was already fully booked for the nights I wanted. Luckily has other architecturally fascinating Airbnbs and I stayed at instead which was perfect.

Both properties are located in the La Veleta neighborhood, a safe community with lots of great places to eat (like Pinches Taco Shop!) and little coffee shops.

Even though I didn’t get to stay at Fosil I was able to walk a couple blocks and capture a few photos of its architecture.

The beautiful private outdoor space at Casa Mirra, one of seven new apartments at . Designed by the amazing , who also has other architecturally stunning properties in Tulum, Mexico that are available on Airbnb.

I stayed 2 nights at Casa Mirra and loved every minute of it. I’ll talk more about my experience staying here in another post soon.

✨ A New Direction ✨

To better align with my overall goals in life (1. Travel more!) and to take full advantage of this new audience I am grateful to have acquired over the past few weeks- I have pivoted the branding and purpose of this account.

Instead of being solely focused on my photography print shop and the marketing of those images, it’s now a Travel Content Creator account!

What this means in practice is I will be posting a lot more photos and videos from my travel adventures (as well as of Los Angeles, because I love this city). There will also be less posts pushing the sale of my prints (but the print shop will still be linked and I hope you check it out).

I’m excited! This change brings clarity to the types of content I will post here, feels much more authentic to me and opens up the door to more opportunities in the future!

It will also mean injecting more of myself into the content, which honestly gives me some anxiety. But I’m ready for the challenge!

I appreciate you coming on this journey with me. 🌱

During the pandemic I did a lot of walking around the Hollywood Hills and taking photos of interesting homes. It's an eclectic mix of Spanish style, mid-century modern, Tudor, and then newer more modern homes. ⁠

This shot was taken from a little known walkway in Whitley Heights. I love the warm light reflecting off the architecture of the classic (and some not so classic) Hollywood homes. ⁠

I have many fond memories of visiting the Oregon Coast as a child and staying in hotel rooms so close to the sea we would leave the back door open at night to let the gentle ambience of the waves lull us to sleep. ⁠

The Aztecs believed that where they found an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a snake, is where they should build their new capital city. That ancient capital is now in the center of Mexico City and the prickly pear (appearing on the Mexico flag) is a symbol of hope and endurance. ⁠
