August 19 is World Photography Day! In past years I’ve shared my favorite street photos from the previous 12 months, but this year I’m sharing something a little different.
Located in a converted shop in Staunton, Virginia, the Camera Heritage Museum is home to the largest publicly accessible camera collection in the United States—over 7,000 of them, spanning the nearly 2-century history of photography from daguerreotypes to digital. They’re currently raising funds to move to a larger space where they can put their entire collection on display, so if you can’t make your way to central Virginia to visit in person, please go to their website at cameraheritagemuseum.org and donate if you can.
