When my mother died, I got the chance to go through her "papers".
Legal pads and scraps of paper. Napkins. Cuttings from newspapers.

All of these precious bits of paper were what I had left of the one person in the world I loved most. Grocery lists and grand ideas. Personal thoughts and phone numbers.

What I wish every day is that she had had more Photographs in those piles. Photos of her (of which I have nearly none). Photos of us (A few have survived). Photos through her eyes, the ones I miss every day.

There's a reason family photography matters so much to me. There's a thousand stories behind photos like the one here, of my beautiful sister. A version of her that is still inside her now, but not the one you see on the outside. There's a million moments I've captured that are gone but never forgotten.

Don't leave your family without those moments.

Why work with someone who picked up a camera on a whim and decided to follow a trend? I've had a camera in my hand since grade school, and through multiple careers, grad school, a commercial acting stint that took over pop culture for a hot minute, I never stopped learning, reaching, and clicking my shutter.
