🌴 If don't live in sunny LA, learning how to use artificial light can possibly make you $1000s of extra dollars!

Imagine this, you book a client, the day of your shoot comes and it's cloudier than an dooms-day movie scene...☁️

You're left to reschedule or shoot as is, but with the chance of making your client's image gallery limited, your clients choose only the basic package because they weren't fully Wowed... With $100s or $1000s in product upgrades gone.

👉🏻 There's one attachment I use very often to shape and soften hard light, even under direct daylight...

📸 I'm talking about the Pro Mist Filter

Specifically the 1/4 Mist filter, this is the filter that was on my lens for these images, and the reason they have that soft cinematic glow in the light.

It is also a huge part of my One Light Images, since these are shot with one light and often in a tight room, it kinda works as extra bokeh by diffusing the glow from the light and making it appear farther away than it is.

You can use whichever filter you want for this, but if you want to use the exact brand I use

Natural light will always be my first love, but...

Being able to create the light I want instead of waiting for the perfect conditions has changed a LOT for me as a photographer.

You no longer have to
❌ Cancel due to Cloudy day
❌ Be time constrained to shoot during daytime
❌ Get flat images due to poor lighting

And yes, one light is all it takes to turn a flat image into something that feels warm, cinematic and intentional.

Once you have this technique in your toolbox, you'll start showing up as the photographer who has it all together for their clients.

And you'll stop being quite so dependent on what the weather decides to do that day. 😅

Your studio matters BUT not as much as you think...

This is most likely your clients first experience with bo***ir, how you welcome them, how you guide them, how you gain their trust and make them feel confident will far outweigh whether you have a second or third set in your studio.

😅 I had to ask my roommates to leave the apartment in order for me to shoot a session back in the day, yes I shot I'm a shared apartment. So when I say anything is possible. I don't say it for the sake of saying it.

Almost no one talks about this, but avoiding burnout is a HUGE part of creating a great client experience and building a business you can actually sustain.

👉🏻 If you're tired, underslept, creatively drained, or just going through the motions... your clients WILL feel it.

You can have the perfect studio, incredible posing, and a dialed-in workflow, but your energy is still part of the experience.

So on your time off, actually be OFF.

Play some music. Go for a walk. Spend time with friends. Touch grass... literally. 😂 Do whatever fills your cup back up so that when it's time to create, your clients get the best version of you.

Your clients will feel the difference, and your creativity, your mind, and the longevity of your business will thank you for it. 🤟🏻

This week, we’re talking all things CLIENT EXPERIENCE.

🌴 Outdoor shoots are notoriously underrated when it comes to the amount of planning, logistics, and scouting they actually require.

Sure, your client might be comfortable posing in lingerie in front of you... but in front of random people walking by? Probably not. 😅

That’s why scouting isn’t just about finding the prettiest location. It’s about knowing where your client can feel comfortable, where you’ll have privacy, what the lighting will look like, and removing as many surprises as possible before they ever step in front of your camera.

At its core, client experience is simply how your client feels before, during, and after their shoot.

Believe me when I say:

Good images + AMAZING client experience = referrals & returning clients 🔥

Amazing images + BAD client experience = a dead end.

Your photos will get you some people thru the door, but in a niche as intimate as bo***ir, your clients experience matters just as much as your images.

🫠 Instagram made me take this one down, so let's hope version 2 is safe enough for the overlords🤞🏻

I'd be so discouraged if it wasn't for the fact that I absolutely love what I do for a living, bo***ir solves my need for being creative, while also helping others, I can't really ask for much more than that.

Then there's you guys, my community, a mix of insanely smart studio owners, wonderful artists and up-and-coming photographers.

My life would look very different without y'all so I want to say thank you for always being positive and pushing yourselves to do better.
