Sometimes(often) I really want to post the unhinged, behind the scenes, in-process, un-retouched, raw shots. The ones that really showcase the fine line between making beautiful assets and losing your f**kn mind. When it goes just a little too far, and you had all the shots you need like six to eight shots ago. It might be my favorite part of the process while working with fellow creatives. Just losing your mind a little, recognizing it, and taking a collective step backwards. Truly my favorite part of the process, and I’m grateful for it.

This year has been a hard one for me. One of the hardest in my professional adult life honestly.

Then I remember 2020, and losing my stepmom. Traveling in the middle of a pandemic to Florida to spend time with my family, and especially my dad. Only really known my pop half my life now, and it must be genetic, because the only thing that gets us through the hard times is working. Fulfilling some sort of duty or obligation. A sense of purpose.

Not that it provides any answers, but it keeps your higher brain quiet and occupied and you can focus on the real problem solving. Or just visualize your next step through the fog.

These were from my time with my dad and my family in Florida, back in 2020. Thanks for being there for me, and for letting me be there for you.

When I simultaneously bought these packages of top ramen and the ski mask at dollar general, the girl at the register joked about buying the same ski mask and never wearing it, so I gauged the crowd and said “I’ll be back here in it later!”

Luckily everyone cracked up.
