Here's a shot I took in Japan last year of a lone woman in a rice field juxtaposed against a pack of children getting out of school. I think it's amazing how even in somewhat dense urban areas, it's common for cities to be dotted with rice fields. My couchsurfing host told me the government subsidizes the rice farmers in these cases, but I don't know much more about it than that.

I took these photos a couple years ago at Nathan and Willow's wedding in Portland, but I still remember this moment like it was yesterday. In the middle of the ceremony, Nathan's brother Isaac sees them do something cute, draws a big heart shape in the air, and then looks at everyone in the audience with the biggest smile ever. Had to wipe the tears out of my eyes before continuing to shoot!
