Few people know of a company called Procter & Gamble. But most people know their products: Bounty, Charmin, Old Spice, Pampers, Tide, Gillette, Pantene, Oil of Olay…you get it. What this company figured out is that they’ll make more money if each of the roles they can play has a separate, carefully crafted headshot marketing it. Even two types of paper (Charmin and Bounty) don’t share the same name and color scheme. Procter and Gamble don’t pretend one headshot can work for all the roles they want to play, and they win over and over and over and over and over again. In contrast, Dial (the hand soap) believed they could lean on their brand recognition and start Dial the deodorant. But no one wanted to put hand soap in their arm pits. It was a massive and costly mistake. is as willing as Procter & Gamble to live in reality to serve her career. She’s both this post and the last one, and she makes it clear. // // // by
