With over 14,000 entries from 139 countries around the world, it’s a true honor for our work (and Tempest’s magnificence, obvs) to be recognized by the international jury of judges.

Your pet is officially in the tree-planting business. 🌳

Starting now, we’re donating to have a tree planted in honor of every family we photograph at Shuttermutt Photo.

We love creating physical artwork, but that artwork also takes physical resources from our beautiful planet. Add in how climate change has effected California over the past few years, and we wanted to find a simple way for our studio to give something back.

Through A Living Tribute, we can choose where each tree is planted. Many will go into nearby Angeles National Forest, but when clients visit us from outside LA, we’ll do our best to choose a region closer to their home.

And we’re starting retroactively: every family we’ve photographed so far this year is getting a tree too.

More pets on walls = more trees in the ground 🌳 🐾

Who could resist turning those senior dogs’ puppy-eyed portraits into tattoos?

Emerson and Khloe’s dad couldn’t, and we love it.

Now their unbearably sweet faces are permanently on his arms, as well as framed in their home.

Ready for most fun part? He got the tattoos on the respective arm he uses to hold each of their leashes with when they go for walks. 🦮So if anyone is walking behind him, they can already see each dog’s face. 🥹

Manute’s family wasn’t sure they wanted to take family photos.

Manute solo? For sure. This day was all about him, after all.

But they’re camera shy and weren’t sure it would be worth the discomfort to be in photos themselves.

“Let’s just start with some photos of Manute over your shoulder. You won’t even have to look at the camera,” we suggested.

Before we knew it, everyone was being their authentic, silly selves with their favorite frosted-face dog.

Manute’s mom said they dance in the kitchen every night, so we cranked up the music and captured the moment.

Dad just wanted to be comfy together on the ground. We got tons of great options, but in the end he decided on a gloriously goofy shot to add to their keepsake photo box.

Manute‘s family might have been skeptical about family photos, but they left with truly priceless, everyday moments to always hold in their hands.

Mochi is a 13yo “miracle dog” according to his mom.

His resilient spirit through paralysis, heart issues, and losing an eye has been a true source of inspiration for her the past few years.

We’re so glad she now has her muse on her walls, and that they’re “even better than [she] imagined.” ✨

Mochi’s photo session was very gentle in order to accommodate his needs, but his artwork is bold!

His sweet, scruffy, Shih Tzu face makes a chic statement in these black and white, acrylic portraits, right?

We titled the full-body portrait “Miraculous Mochi,” and “Eye on the Prize” is for the photo of him looking to check on his mom. 🥹
