I wrote a lot of poetry as a kid and sometimes in the middle of the night I’d wake up, sit up, and a line for a poem would come to me. Sometimes the poem would turn out and others it was just a burst and release of creative energy. This is how my art works. I had a vision for this outfit. I found the dress, ordered the sleeves (forgot one sleeve the day of the session, had to bite one to cut it in half and this concept was born) and envisioned the subject. and the ensemble fit into place and the poem was written. It’s one of my proudest pieces to date.

Have you ever thought about having a word for your photography?

Let’s try a little experiment! Come up with one word that you want to encompas the art you create. Obviously, there’s room to explore beyond, but tell me what you’re going for in terms of mood.

See, when I look at ’s work, I think “dreamy.” It’s a crystal clear vibe. Isn’t it funny how sometimes it’s easier to do these exercises for others than ourselves?
