As I’m readying the sign-ups for summer and fall sessions to hit your inboxes next week (!!) I thought I’d share a little about me and my business…
-I’ve got two girls and I hate that they keep getting older but then again I also just really love getting to know and hang out with these real people they are becoming. I really do like them a lot. I really like Joe, a lot, too. We work hard together and for each other and started dating young and got married young and had kids young and growing up with him is the only way I’d do it all again.
-It is not a chore for me to work with kids. Don’t get me wrong-I could NEVER be a teacher, bless them 10000x over- but getting to be with your families and playing games and trying to photograph those pieces of them that you’ll want to scroll through every time you are not with them is an honest to goodness passion of mine. I’m not even just trying to be nice.
-I am not a perfectionist/A type personality except for when it comes to my work. Each location, time of session and edit is a carefully curated, didn’t just happen like this, decision. That way when I control and micromanage there is all the room and the world for you and your own crazy people to be the variables that bring life and fun to the images. Other than that, I’m good with a fluid type of chaotic-ish lifestyle.
-I have a phobia of peacocks. It is irrational and out of my control. I will not shoot in Malaga Cove. If we are doing an in home session and there are peacocks where you live then you will have to come get me out of my car and walk me back at the end. And I’ll have stress dreams about it beforehand.
And finally, I don’t take for granted what I get to do for work. It took a while to let myself feel proud of the business I built but it is something to be proud of because it has taken a lot of work and dedication. I work really really hard to be the person you trust to take beautiful images of your family and it is still daunting to put Kate Keating Photography out there for you to choose. Thank you when you do, it doesn’t go unnoticed
