Good Shepherd Shelter is an amazing place. is a long-term treatment and education-based shelter for women and their children who are healing from domestic violence. This is where I teach mindfulness to the children who reside there. I was honored to photograph their annual BBQ celebrating the families that have gone through the program. I was telling somebody the other day how photographing birthday parties is my jam. People are celebrating and the joy of the family can be palpable. There is an ease and flow to it. It’s important, but lower stakes than a wedding or bat mitzvah This was a very fun party I shot this summer at the lovely in Venice.
