It's so it's the perfect day to announce that Jenny and her husband, Tyler, just adopted...TWINS! Both baby boys were born this past week at over 7 pounds each and are healthy and doing well! After almost 6 years of waiting to start a family, we are overjoyed to call Dashiell & Jasper our sons! We've spent the last week feeding them, changing them, and connecting with them. We are currently still out of state waiting for the all-clear from the courts to come home to Los Angeles. This has been a very surreal experience, but our love for our sons is already overwhelming.
And while this is a joyous time for us, for the biological family, this is a time of reflection and mourning. Their choice to place the babies with us was neither quick nor casual. What is easily one of the best days of our lives could very well be one of their worst of theirs, which is a sobering thought. So we ask that you please keep them in your prayers.
We appreciate the support and encouragement that you've shown us throughout this process. And we can certainly use your continued prayers as we adjust to this strange new life.
That all of this has happened during a pandemic has its positives and negatives. On the positive side, for the next few months (if not longer), we're able to stay home connecting with our children instead of commuting to work or spending all day in an office. Quality time is a valuable commodity and we thankfully have a lot of it right now. The negative side, as you can imagine, is a reduction in income at a very inopportune time. Adoption is a fairly expensive endeavor and one that we initiated before COVID shut down the economy. So we are having a fundraiser to cover some of our adoption expenses.
