In a world of Artificial Art and everything seemingly to be artificial. Storytelling is more important than ever. The ensh*tification of everything loses the value of human touch. The years, the months, the weeks, and the hours i’ve spent biking or skateboarding through the city to collect photographs like these to create one of my composites, while simultaneously trying to “get by” gets lost in my process.

The hundreds of source images I shoot that no one sees, the time to sort through and edit them. Then take those photos, and spends countless hours layering them together to make a collage that no one has seen before. and no one evens knows what to call it. “Pop Surrealism” I guess? ...and it’s photography. Sooo maybe “Pop Surrealism Photography?”

Why am I doing this? Not because I’m getting paid to do it or know that someone will see interest in what I do. It’s because it the only way I can genuinely express myself. I love doing it, and thats all that matters. And I want to share it. And I want people to know it’s real. And I want people to know it’s made with my bare hands, and the physical labor that goes into it. And It’s not meant to be seen on a tiny screen and instantly judged by an algorithm.

Art is everywhere and it’s in everything, no one or no thing will ever stop it.

We’ll meet at the Gallery at the Ace Hotel before we head to the streets of NoMad and explore the neighborhood through photography, observation, and conversation. We’ll wrap up at the hotel for a social hour to connect with other industry professionals, hobbyists, and enthusiasts.

Whether you shoot with a film camera, mirrorless camera, DSLR, or your phone, you’re welcome to join us.
