I was given the opportunity to preview the brand new David Geffen Galleries at recently.

The new building that spans over Wilshire Blvd is structurally striking and the collection that they’ve curated here is as diverse as it is captivating. The work ranges from globally recognized masters to contemporary local artists. We spent 3 hours walking around and left numerous rooms unexplored so I will be back very soon. This part of the museum will open to the general public on Monday, May 4.

The American workforce is the largest war machine in the history of civilization. It doesn’t matter what you believe in, if you pay taxes, you are complicit.

You are paying for bombs. You are paying to end the lives of innocent children on the other side of the planet. You are paying for war crimes with your own hard earned money. Our inability to decide where our tax dollars are spent by a murderous, greedy, and shameless government is one of the great moral tragedies of our time.

All the while, within our own borders, our government continues to allow Americans to starve on the streets, it allows banks to seize homes and remove families, it allows people to die because they can’t afford medicine or life saving healthcare, it allows students who sought education to drown in an unpayable debt, it allows single mothers to work 3 jobs on an unlivable wage instead of spending time with her baby.

The hunger of the war machine is more important than you. The profits of weapons manufacturers and corrupt politicians are more important than the lives of the people their weapons destroy. There is no innocence in a system that demands war. There is no profit in peace.

The American work force is inextricably linked to the American war machine. Every time you pay your taxes, you are contributing to the military industrial complex whether you like it or not. Bombing schools, striking hospitals with impunity, and funding genocide are just a few things that you’re paying for.

Your hard earned dollars are lining the pockets of weapons manufacturers, surveillance companies, and corrupt politicians and there is nothing you can do about it. Our inability to decide where our tax dollars are spent by a murderous, greedy, and shameless government is one of the great moral tragedies of our time. Yesterday, I brought a high powered flash to the “No Kings” protest in Downtown Los Angeles. This is what I saw.

The day was one of hope and a shared sense of community. The crowd was made up of like minded people fighting for a wide array of causes. The people of Los Angeles continue to show up in numbers to make their voices heard against the actions of this wannabe authoritarian administration.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I regret to inform you that there will be no “Miss America” this year. Instead, it is my honor to present to you, the newly crowned “Miss Information Age”

At no other time in history has the world’s knowledge been so easily accessible by the masses and at no other time has the dissemination of this information been so easily corrupted. Misinformation and propaganda spread like wildfire on the tongues of politicians and those in power while the truth is buried or simply ignored. At the same time, AI generated videos, photos, and voices are creating a rip in the fabric of what we understand as proof. These terrible, pervasive, and all too plentiful lies are believed and even glorified by some while the rest of the population becomes numb to their absurdity.

This set of images portrays a beauty pageant winner, alone on stage wearing a VR headset, living in her own false reality. And instead of an adoring crowd, in the audience sits a lone spectator. A witness to the end of truth in the Misinformation Age.

Over the last 8 years, I’ve photographed many of the major protests that have taken place in Los Angeles. This post is made up of images from numerous protests spanning Climate Change Action, Black Lives Matter, Free Palestine, No Kings, and the fight against ICE. As a photographer with a background in political science, I take every opportunity I can to magnify the messages of movements I believe are important. Photographs of these moments tell the story of who we are and what we stand for. I will continue to use my camera to document it all to the best of my ability.

Yesterday, I brought a 500 watt strobe-light to the ICE protests in Downtown Los Angeles. This is what I saw 📸

The day was beautiful, powerful, and at times, intense. The people of Los Angeles continue to show up in defense of their immigrant friends, family, and neighbors. The most encouraging thing I saw was the diversity in age present. From baby boomers down to Gen Z and younger. Turns out the kids are gonna be alright.
