A native of the Bronx who grew up in Rockland county New York, Tabcum was born with photography running in his blood, picking up his first camera—a Kodak Instamatic—at the tender age of five. With his Instamatic, Tabcum spent much of his youth exploring the Adirondacks and State Parks, enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty and capturing nature’s ever-changing faces with simple shots that evoke
a world of memories and feelings, carefully developed in the dark room of his High School’s Photography Club. His photographic work is reminiscent of these formative years, featuring an emphasis on landscapes, with occasional nods to man’s influence on natural landscapes through piers, bridges and cityscapes. Despite running a successful technology company in the entertainment industry, Tabcum’s one true passion is the one that informed his childhood: the great outdoors and the creation of photographic arts. Tabcum takes advantage of both film and digital formats and does all his own developing, processing and printing to ensure his works are created to his exacting standards.
