The 6th street bridge is definitely an LA. icon. It's been in countless movies and tv shows. It offers a grand sweeping view of DTLA and leads you right into downtown as if it were the gateway to the city. I'm sure if you live in or around LA, you've heard that its going to be demolished due to safety concerns. Well the first part to comedown this last weekend was the section you see here in this photo. I'm really glad I got a chance to shoot it last year with my buddy Jay. We were headed to downtown to shoot the Disney concert hall but as we got close to the 6th street bridge we started to talk about how we had both wanted to shoot it but never had. The conditions were looking pretty good so we decided to make a last minute detour and shoot the bridge for sunset. Im really glad we did. It ended up being the first and last time I would get a chance to shoot it. Luckily I got the shot I was looking for.

The Late Show

This shot is from a little over a year ago when my buddy Michael and I raced down to Corona Del Mar to catch a killer sunset. He was at The Bruery having a beer and I think I was at home being lazy. We were both texting back and forth and trying to look at reports to figure out whether or not sunset would be a bust. We decided eff it and be there was the best option. Mike ended up beating me down there and catching most of the great light that was pouring through a break in the horizon. Luckily for me, I got there just in time to catch the end of the show. I've definitely learned that whether or not you get the shot you want, you always have fun trying, so eff it and be there.

Just an old shot from a past visit to Alabama Hills, CA. We had such awesome conditions that day as a storm front moved in. The crazy clouds and beautiful light made for a great day of shooting.

I haven't posted anything for a long time but I wanted to take a moment during this long weekend of hanging out with family and friends to say thank you to the brave men and women who proudly serve this country. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, for your honor and resolve. This is a crazy world we live in and I am extremely grateful for all that you do and for all of your sacrifices.

Thank you MJD, I think of you often and will remember you always.

San Diego is such an amazing place with so much to see and do all packed into one great city. I was lucky to call it home for 5+ years and to have so many great places to shoot just minutes from my front door. This is an older shot, but still one of my favorite sunsets from the Ocean Beach Pier.

Found this little barrel cactus while exploring Alabama Hills and decided to make it the star of the show. These guys are crazy sharp with thorns that will pierce right through your pants and shoes, so watch your step!

I shot this a while back, but just now getting around to posting it. Antelope Canyon is such an awesome place and has been on my photography bucket list for a long time. I got a ton of really cool abstracts and detail shots on this trip, but knew i wanted at least one shot that showed what it's like to walk through the slot canyons. I think this shot illustrates that pretty well. Some people will tell you that this location is over-shot but I feel like there is a nearly endless supply of compositions to be had here.
