Hi everyone! The Photography Club at UCLA is now accepting board applications for the academic year 2021-2022! If you are passionate about photography, and leading a group of photographers from various backgrounds and levels of expertise sounds exciting to you, then we highly encourage you to apply! The following 4 positions are open for next year:

1. Outreach chair
2. Graphic Designer / Webmaster
3. Social Media Chair
4. Treasurer

Hi Everyone,

This concludes our spring quarter events. All of our officers wish you all good luck on your finals, and after have a wonderful summer.

We have some new updates as well.

Additionally, we will be participating in the Enormous Activity Fair in Fall, so please be sure to look out for our booth! Throughout this year, the officers have been thinking about doing collaboration projects with local professional photographers, cool fundraising events, and extended photo outings in the future, so stay tuned and we are looking forward to creating memories and photos with you all next year! We will also be creating a new group page, so please join this in Fall 2019.

Finally congratulations to our Photo Club graduating seniors this year: Hana Tanaka and Edwin Lai! We wish you the best and success in your future endeavors.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB RESTART SPRING QUARTER 2019

Hello fellow photographers! Our club has been inactive for the past year and a half, however we are currently planning to bring it back this coming Spring Quarter. We would like to start off with casual meet-ups to shoot photos and create a social space to meet other students/alumni who are also interested in photography. As we grow as a club and gain more support, we will begin to set up informational or editing workshops, themed shoots, or other activities and ideas that you may suggest. We would like to focus primarily on photography rather than cinematography. Anyone can join, whether you are a seasoned photographer or just starting out. DSLRs, point and shoot cameras, smartphones or whatever else you have will all work! We look forward to meeting all you at our events. Thank you!

Come and join us for our second event, where the UCLA Photo Club will be traveling to the famous Rodeo Drive to take portrait photography! Rodeo drive is located in the heart of Beverly Hills and is home to many luxury stores and brands. The meeting location will be the Bruin Bear at 4:30 PM this Friday. We will either take the bus or Uber to get there, depending on the majority decision. After the event, you are welcome to join the officers for dinner, however please bring additional food money accordingly.

We are also looking for portrait models, so if you are interested in modeling, please come out and join us!

Destination: Rodeo Drive
Time and Date: 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, April 12th
Meeting Location: Bruin Bear
Cost: $3.50 for Bus or Uber (plus additional food money)

Hello All! Welcome to the Photography Club at UCLA! Our first event is a social outing to the Santa Monica Pier, where we will be photographing the sunset. This is also a great opportunity for our new members to meet our existing members, have questions about the club and photography in general answered, and also have some fun exploring the area!

We plan to meet at the Bruin Bear this Friday (9/29) at 4:30 PM; fare for the bus is $0.50 in quarters each way with a Bruin Card.

On Assignment #1: EAT

The goal this week is to make photos that take on the act of eating. A snapshot of your avocado toast or sharing a meal with loved ones, whatever you like. Take the opportunity to make the most use of the camera on you and explore ideas surrounding food.

What is On Assignment?

Every two weeks we will be posting a theme or idea that we hope will inspire you to shoot, think creatively, and explore new boundaries in photography. We want to encourage those who wish to participate in club activities but cannot physically join us for events to be active in our online community. Use it as a way to interact with others through our social media platforms. Our goal is to encourage conversation and the sharing of skills and knowledge with all of our club members regardless of experience. This is a space to experiment as well as show off your creativity in technique and direction. Throughout the two weeks, we will create a post with highlights from those weeks and feature our favorites on Instagram.com/uclaphoto.

Meet today for DTLA shooting!
We are having our night outing as an opportunity to shoot night landscapes in downtown LA. We will get dinner together in Grand Central Market, and walk to Department of Water & Power for photo shootings. We are meeting at BruinBear @ 5 pm. Make sure to bring $3.5 for bus money (two $1 bills and six quarters) and get ready to chill!!!

Good Morning!!!
For this week, we are having a collaboration with Atlas Dance Team. During the event, we will teach how to focus on quick moving objects and control shutter speed to capture frozen motions. It’s such a great opportunity to learn motion photography, so please come join us this Friday. The workshop will be held at 6pm in front of Royce Hall. Don’t forget to bring your gear.
