So this is my new move since after multiple phone calls with m3t@ I was informed that the AI algorithm can see literally shadows and mark it as against their what they want to show and stop my account from being seen by non-followers. I had a call with an inquiring client, and I don’t know how we got to this, but we ended up talking about the music of the 90s (I’ve been listening to Hole for 2 wks) and how absolutely awful we all felt about ourselves!!

And we got to talking about how such a significant amount of it really came from the impossible demands- be skinny, be beautiful by these impossibly narrow standards, be happy, don’t be too much, and on and on and on.

So it’s NO WONDER so many of us can’t stand seeing photos of ourselves. We were trained to scrutinize from age 3!

So the moment a woman gets to see herself in her bo***ir photos and be free of all of that GARBAGE messaging we all had to endure- it’s beyond powerful. Getting to spend an hour looking at photos where you not only look like a smokeshow but also FEEL totally hot- it’s impact cannot be overstated💫

“My partner and I often talk about how we think people fall on a spectrum from cute to sexy. For years, I’ve always thought of myself very solidly on the cute side of the spectrum, never really thinking I could look more sxy than I could look cute—
that is, until this shoot with Reclamation Bo***ir.
Omg, the way my jaw dropped to the floor when I realized it was really me in those photos. Everything Allison does in her work is so thoughtful and intentional, from her emails guiding you on your shoot prep, to her make-up and hair team, to the actual shoot with direction, poses and lighting, and even the photo review and purchasing appointment.

It feels so strange to me to be posting photos when it feels like we’re on track for possibly a global war, but here I am🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll never get over the dissonance of social media and 3d life.
I can’t find the words to express adequately hos deeply happy I am for the women of Iran to be free of such a heinous dictator. I cannot imagine what generations have been thru. I also feel strongly the hesitancy so many of these same women feel around what is to come next. But really what I have ti say here doesn’t matter. I just know this is an extremely joyous moment for so many and also very sensitive and complex. I just had to acknowledge this incredibly significant moment, wherever it takes us💛

No joke, the anxiety I felt around moving my bo***ir photography studio from the place we have been for three years to Main Street in Santa Monica felt like stepping into some very large shoes!
I had had my eye on this space for years, and despite all my anxiety around it, things just kept falling into place. When I thought we had hit a nonnegotiable roadblock, things kept shifting.
And so here we are!! I’m so excited for all of the flexibility that this space gives, the new things I will be able to offer, and I’m so excited for you to see it!!!

Safety, Attunement, Fun, Beauty, Power. I was working on a caption for an upcoming post, and these were the words that came to mind when I was brainstorming. The shoot itself was SO much fun and just flew by. I felt pampered by the hair and makeup session (thank you, Karen!), and Allison was PHENOMENAL in how she directed me to pose.
