Samantha + Carl šŸ¤

What a beautiful, joy-filled day this was.

Samantha was in her feels from the very beginning. Happy tears as she put on her dress, happy tears surrounded by her girls, and just so much excitement for everything this day was about to hold.

And Carl? All smiles, completely smitten, and seemingly unable to take his eyes off his bride. These two are the kind of couple you feel when you’re around them. The way they look at each other, the way they laugh together, the way they constantly reach for each other without even thinking about it.

And can we talk about THE VEIL?! Because when I saw it for the first time, I lowkey squealed. šŸ˜‚ I just knew we were about to EAT with those veil shots… and boy, did we. šŸ˜

But beyond the gorgeous dress, the flowers, the veil, and the beautiful setting at Hart & Main, it was the little moments that really got me.

Carl helping Samantha with her dress. Constantly holding her hand. Samantha running her fingers through his hair. And one of my favorites, when they snuck away after the ceremony and I watched them link hands and stare down at their rings for a moment.

Those are the moments I want to remember.

I may not photograph as many weddings as I used to, but that makes the weddings I do take on that much more special.

Getting to document Samantha + Carl committing to forever, surrounded by their family and friends, was such an honor.

S + C, your day was everything. šŸ¤

Here’s to a lifetime of laughing together, reaching for each other, and never getting tired of looking at those rings. 🄹

37. šŸŽ‚āœØ

Wow. What a year it’s been.

To say the woman walking into year 37 is different from the woman who entered 36 would be an understatement. This past year has been filled with so much growth, change, transformation, and saying yes to things I never imagined would become part of my story.

Three years ago, I walked into Control Fitness simply looking to start my fitness journey. Never in a million years did I think that journey would lead me here.

And now, at 37, I’m starting something completely new: becoming a group fitness instructor at the very studio that started it all. 🄹

It feels like such a full-circle moment, and I’m so excited (and maybe a little nervous šŸ˜‚) to officially be teaching Power at Control Fitness!

But today is about more than just this new adventure. It’s about celebrating 37 years of life, the woman I’ve become, how much can change in a year, and everything that brought me to this moment.

I truly love birthdays. Another year older, another year wiser, and hopefully another year of becoming more and more myself.

Here’s to 37. šŸ„‚āœØ I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one. šŸ¤

Sorry girl šŸ˜‚ I had to keep the sound on.

Because WHAT DO YOU MEAN this is the kind of environment you create in your classes?!

The encouragement.
The cheering.
The hype.
The fu***ng GIRLHOOD. 🄹

And it’s not even just you.

It’s all of these beautiful women showing up for each other, cheering each other on, pushing each other, celebrating each other.

Like…this is what women supporting women is supposed to feel like.

I love it here. šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

When I met Miles, it was just her and Ben, living life, adventuring around the world, and making memories together. Somewhere along the way, we became fast friends, eating lunch together, talking about photography, and dreaming about the day we could both take our passion and make it our full-time careers.

Spoiler: we both did the damn thing. 🄹

And now, years later, look at them.

Two beautiful little girls, a life they’ve built together, and a BABY BOY on the way. šŸ„¹šŸ’™

My sweet friend has been through so much this year. She experienced a terrifying accident that could have changed everything, and by nothing short of a miracle, she is still here today, getting ready to welcome another beautiful baby into their family.

I’ve known this little secret for a while now 🤭 and we finally got together to capture this incredible chapter for their family.

And what a chapter it is.

From just Miles + Ben, to a family of four, and now a family of FIVE. Getting to watch their story unfold over the years has been such a gift, and getting to document this moment for my work wife is something I’ll never take for granted.

It was HOT. The bugs were annoying AF. šŸ˜‚ But they embraced it all, enjoying time together as a family of four for just a little while longer.

Miles, I am just so damn happy for you. 🄹 You deserve all of this and more.

I cannot WAIT to meet you, baby boy. šŸ’™

Last year, I met Jessica + Billy when I photographed them for their anniversary.

And now, a year later, I got to meet them again, this time as they wait to become parents to a baby boy. 🄹

We spent a wildly windy evening at the beach, chasing the light, running through the water, laughing, and soaking up this little pocket of time before everything changes.

There was so much excitement between these two. So much anticipation. And so much love for a little boy who hasn’t even arrived yet.

I think this is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer: getting to document more than just a single moment. Getting to come back and photograph the different chapters of a family’s story as it unfolds.

Last year, I was documenting their life as husband and wife.
This year, I get to document them becoming parents.

And someday, hopefully, I’ll get to photograph that sweet baby boy, too. šŸ¤

Jessica + Billy, thank you for trusting me with these memories. I’m so honored I get to be there for another chapter of your story.

Kinda chic to book me as your family photographer. šŸ˜‰

Some stories are just extra special to tell. 🄹

Years ago, I had the honor of documenting David + Shanneen’s engagement. Then their wedding. And now, I got to have them back in front of my camera again, except this time as a family of THREE, celebrating their sweet Noah turning ONE. 😭

Like… are you kidding me?! THIS is what it’s all about.

Getting to watch their story unfold from the two of them, to husband and wife, to now watching them be MOM + DAD to this incredible little boy is just so freaking special.

And Noah. 🄹 This kid was ALL smiles. Seriously, the happiest little guy. He explored, showed off those new walking skills, played with Mom + Dad, was completely obsessed with his giant balloon… and then absolutely WENT FOR IT when we brought out the cake. šŸ˜‚ Safe to say, the cake smash was a success.

But one of my favorite things about this session was getting to watch David + Shanneen as parents.

The way they love him. The patience. The playfulness. The way they both look at him like he is quite literally their entire world.

They were meant to be Noah’s parents.

And Noah was so clearly meant to be theirs. šŸ¤

This. THIS is why I do what I do.

It’s so much bigger than showing up, taking pretty photos, and saying goodbye. My ultimate goal has always been to document your legacy. To build relationships with my people and be invited back, year after year, chapter after chapter, to document all of it.

The engagements. The ā€œI dos.ā€ The babies. The first birthdays. The tiny hands, belly laughs, messy cake-covered faces, and all of the seemingly ordinary moments in between that one day won’t feel ordinary at all.

David + Shanneen, thank you for continuing to trust me with some of the most important chapters of your lives. Getting to watch your family grow from the very beginning and now getting to document this chapter with Noah is something I’ll never take for granted. šŸ¤

This is what capturing your legacy means to me.

When Monica first reached out, I was so excited to hear her family was traveling all the way from Missouri and wanted me to document their California vacation. (Seriously… how cool is that?!)

Then she told me her kids were 20, 16, and 8.

And I’ll be honest… I got a little nervous.

Photographing families with older kids can sometimes feel a little intimidating. I always wonder: Will they be into it? Will they have fun? Will they actually engage with each other?

Well…

The Millien family proved every single one of my worries wrong.

From the moment we met, they were all in.

They ran through the waves, laughed until their cheeks hurt, played games on the Santa Monica Pier, hugged, danced, joked around, and fully embraced just being together. It never felt forced. It never felt like anyone was just ā€œdoing this for Mom.ā€

It felt real.

And I think that’s my favorite part about these images.

Because they aren’t just photos from a family vacation.

They’re proof that even when your kids are 20, 16, and 8, they’ll still race down the beach, laugh with their parents, and make memories that deserve to be remembered.

Monica & Alex, thank you for trusting me with your family. Spending the evening with you all was such an honor, and I hope these images become some of your favorite souvenirs from your California trip. šŸ¤

The confession is out… šŸ˜‚

Yes, I will absolutely say ā€œOMG SO CUTEā€ approximately 47 times during your session.

No, I cannot help it.

Because when your toddler gives you a real laugh, your baby grabs your finger, your husband gets you to genuinely smile, or your kids forget the camera is even there… I’m going to freak out a little.

Those are the moments I came here for. šŸ¤

(And yes… I will probably also say ā€œwait… one moreā€ about 87 times.)

I’m still sitting here smiling over yesterday. šŸ¤Ž

The response to my Fall Minis has been beyond anything I could have hoped for, and I’m so grateful for every family who has already reserved their spot.

But more than anything… I’m just excited for what these sessions are going to create.

Because these aren’t about perfectly posed photos or getting everyone to look at the camera at the exact same time.

They’re about the little things.

The belly laughs.
The tiny hands reaching for yours.
The way your kids run, play, and love on each other without even realizing I’m there.

My favorite images are always the ones where you can feel your family.

The ones that bring you right back to this season of life.

So if you’ve been thinking about booking a Fall Mini, this is your little reminder that I’d love to document your family exactly as they are right now.

Let’s create some magic together and capture the moments you’ll want to remember forever. ✨

Fall Minis are still available. Head to the link in my bio to reserve your spot.
