For the past three years, I have been creating a story universe called CVW as part of our new company, JK Studio Originals, a tiny media label developing original books and story worlds designed to expand into film, music, art, and other media.
Our first release is LICENCE TO FEEL, which happens to be based on a book I wrote. 😉
It is a smart comedy and a parody about a world where feelings require a licence.
There is the Joy Police.
A government happiness campaign.
A resistance movement called The Dark Side of the Moon.
And a British aristocrat named Cecil Von Wittershaw, who funded the entire thing because happiness is a good investment.
The Queen endorsed the campaign to make London appear less gloomy on postcards and raise the mood without raising the taxes.
Naturally, it got out of hand.
The book is the source material and the proof of concept for a much larger cinematic universe.
We will begin with the novel, followed by trailers, soundtracks, objects from the world, and a criminal investigation you will be able to follow through clues and evidence.
I am currently waiting for the publisher to confirm that the book is live on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, and over 100 retailers worldwide. Until then, I thought it would be more fun to roll this out like a film premiere. Because normal is not approved in this world. 😁
And yes, I am starring in the poster until Hollywood casts someone else. Since I own the copyright to myself, this seemed like the most practical solution. 😂
So excited to introduce to you in the next few weeks all the characters, objects and evidence recovered from the Joy Police! 🦩
