Hawaiian legend has it that the Crouching Lion was a Tahiti demigod, Kauahi, who couldn’t resist the siren call of a Hawaiian goddess. The siren call froze Kauahi into the Crouching Lion. To this day, he is still perching on top of Pu’u Manamana, watching over this beautiful part of the island.
