As luck was on my side I caught CSX 4720's first time leading a train as it lead M576. Caught it coming into Louisville. This unit is a really neat and sharp looking one. Taken 1/28/25.

Christmas came early for me. Finally got to see Amtrak 301. Been wanting to see it ever since it got unveiled. One of my favorite 50th schemes. Got to see it yesterday on a 8 and half hour late Amtrak 51 the northbound cardinal. Taken 12/23/24.

Looking back to earlier this year. I was lucky enough to catch UP 1111 Leading CSX I131 at last light and it was coming into West Terre Haute on its way or Salem, IL for interchange to UP. Such a neat looking locomotive. Definitely would love to photograph this thing again.

2024 has delivered some good stuff. Been slow but still cool nonetheless. Got the word that UP 1943 was coming east on CSX M684. Luckily it was my day off so I wandered to my favorite spot on the St. Louis Line to catch it. Taken 2/1/24.

Another good catch I got in January was UP 6379 Leading UP ZMQG4. This morning was a challenge to photograph in as it was foggy as heck. Luckily it seemed to hit patches where the fog wasn't bad so I was able to get some photographs of it. There's less than 10 of these maybe even less in active service so figured take advantage to see these while I can. Taken 1/24/24.

Been awhile. I'll try to be better about posting again. Anyways started January off well. Got the opportunity to see NS 8025 Monongahela leading NS 255 the westbound road railers. Snuck up on me at state line Indiana so I raced over to Danville, IL and managed to catch him again as he had to stop at the diamond there. Taken 1/10/24.

Happy New Year's everyone! Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday and is ready for 2024! This took me a minute to figure out how I wanted to do it but finally getting around to doing it but here's 2023 review. Going from left to right:
January- INRD 9010 leads the Avon turn coming down the hill to shove back into Senate Ave Yard.
February- a unusual and never has happened before but a Illinois Central SD70 back on home rails on the INRD Ex IC tracks as it picks up cars from the elevator in Oblong, IL. The symbol for this one was GLCN. Grain loads CN.
March- CSX 911 Honoring First Responders cresting the hill on the Northside of Sullivan, IN on the CE&D leading M648.
April- CSX 4568 Operation Lifesaver 50th anniversary leads G060 as it's spotting up the elevator in Shelburn, IN on the CE&D. Him spotting this elevator led to lots of photo opportunities and I loved this chase.
May- CSX 3194 Honoring Law Enforcement is a mid train dpu on C871 as it crosses over Rahm Viaduct as it heads towards Evansville, IN on the CE&D.
June- A Still Shiny CSX 1973 Chessie Heritage leads M648 northbound through CP Crane. Was fun chasing this also.
July- A Brand New CSX 1982 Seaboard Heritage leads CSX I025 Southbound through CP Crane.
August- I finally got to see CSX 3194 Honoring Law Enforcement lead in the daylight on the CE&D as it comes northbound through Youngstown, IN on M500
September- A Still Shiny CSX 1869 C&O Heritage leads M500 through Youngstown, IN on the CE&D on M500 as well.
October- On a dreary day CSX 1776 Honoring Veterans Leads W085 bound for rose lake on the St. Louis Line as it passes through West Terre Haute, IN. Second time I've seen this thing lead in the daylight. Still waiting for more.
November- CSX 3194 Honoring Law Enforcement leads a southbound loaded grain train G024 as it flys through Paxton, IN on the CE&D.
December- I wish it could of been better circumstances here but unfortunately for the second time now I've seen this thing tied down in the dark not moving. It was sitting in the Kraft Runner waiting to go down the LIRC on CSX B247. Still waiting to see this in the daylight moving.

I stopped by the transfer yard in Indianapolis after work a few days ago to try to see this thing. Unfortunately I did not get to go see it head south on the lirc but I'm definitely surprised at how well my new phone camera did in the pitch black. I'm still hunting to see this thing In the daylight moving both times I've seen it. It's been tied down and crewless in the dark. Taken 12/6/23.

Little did I know this is the last time I got to photograph the 90 macs on the merom coal train as their career has ended on the INRD. Their fate is still unknown but they will be missed. Taken 09/08/23.

Got out of work in time to catch a lumbering M363 lead by CSX 1976 the conrail heritage as it enters Indianapolis on its way to Avon it's final destination.Taken 9/02/23.

Got the chance to mark another one off the list and finally got to see CSX 1869 The C&O Heritage. Leading M500 bound for Chicago. This unit looked really sharp and is still very shiny despite being out for a bit. Take 9/28/23. &O
