Hidden above the Kentucky River sits an abandoned tunnel that once carried travelers through these cliffs.
The traffic is gone.
The road moved on.
But the tunnel, history and memories past remain

🧐There's a geomagnetic storm 🌙🪐headed our way, with the strongest activity expected late June 4 into June 5.

If conditions line up just right, folks across Kentucky and much of the Midwest could have a chance to see colors in the night sky that usually stay far to the north.

The best time to look will likely be after full darkness sets in and through the overnight hours. Find a spot away from town lights, face north, and keep an eye on the horizon.

Funny how every once in a while, the heavens remind us that there's more going on above us than the things that keep us busy down here.

Might be worth stepping outside tomarrow tonight.

Just in case the sky decides to put on a show.

Seeing the artifacts and history on display brought back memories. It makes you wonder about the stories hidden throughout these Kentucky and Appalachia and the pieces of the past that still sit quietly waiting to be discovered in the earth.

I found this one back in Eastern, Kentucky in Greenup county years back. Do any of you have any cool artifacts you've found walking or dug up???

History isn't always behind glass. Sometimes it's out in a field, on a hillside, or along an old forgotten road.

The town keeps moving 🏦⛲️. History stays📽 alive!
Abraham Lincoln still watches over the square in Hodgenville, Kentucky, more than 200 years after his birth. It's pretty cool how this town keeps history alive.

A new part of the landscape of Elizabethtown. Set to open in July
Today it's construction equipment and concrete.
Soon it'll be grocery carts, families, and thousands of people coming and going every week.
It's interesting how fast a place can go from an grassy field to something that changes a community.

Less than an hour from Louisville stands the birthplace site of Abraham Lincoln.
The memorial marks the ground where Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, at Sinking Spring Farm near Hodgenville, Kentucky.
History is often closer than we think.
