Yesterday we got celebrate Jenna’s 26th birthday.

We spent most of the day as a family doing all the little things we enjoy. Starting with coffee, going on walks through the woods, and ending with a date night (plus Lionel).

Jenna deserves the world. She has changed my life in so many ways it’s hard to look back on who I was and I what I desired just a few years ago.

One of the most compelling things about her is how convicted she is to live a life full of generosity, nurturance, holistic health, and counter coulter thinking for both herself and her family. She is our rock and I’m so honored to be her husband. Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife.

It was obvious why guests would come from all over for these two- as easy as they were to celebrate, they continuously celebrated the people surrounding them. Each guest filled an intentional spot at the table, chosen by Shawn and Alyssa to join in this milestone. It has been a true joy to be a part of this season of their lives!

Connor and Claire post ceremony. The clouds softened the heat of the sun and the light wind made the trees dance. What would it be like to leave behind status quo and social trends and create your day from a place of holding tight to the things that matter? What would it be like to let go of strict timelines and replace it with an attitude of going with the flow? What would it be like to genuinely enjoy your wedding day, beginning, middle, and end?

A FAMILY OF FOUR

Lionel was born in our home on May 26th at 7:08 AM. He is everything we could have hoped for and then some. He came into this world as a gentle force, already revealing himself as a world changer and absolute Light in every space. Madeline being walked down the aisle by her dad from the view of the officiant (who also happened to be Austin). When Caleb and Mads invited us to document their day, they also asked Austin to be the one to officiate their wedding. A once in a blue moon occurrence that we were way more than thrilled to get to experience with them.

An overcast sky set the stage for what would be a serene wedding day for Madeline and Caleb. A couple, also dear friends of ours, who asked us to photograph their April wedding surrounded only by their immediate families. A format familiar to us, one we utilized ourselves, and one we've photographed for others. Each time we experience it, it just feels like home. Like a day encompassed in a big hug and smiles that tell the stories of generations. All on film, this day was thoughtful and intentional- just like the couple themselves.
