There are photographs that document a moment, and there are photographs that remind us of a story we’ve all been telling for generations.
Standing beneath the fireworks, I couldn’t help but think of the words Francis Scott Key wrote over two centuries ago:
”…the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.”
For just an instant, the anthem became visible.
