Morning Star

Amidst the fury and chaos of the storm,
we found each other, broken, lost, tattered,
a symbiosis, trust and bond took form,
different parts of each lost, forgotten, scattered,
we shared our working parts, to keep each other warm,
after the storm passed, together we felt less shattered,
together, slowly, we gathered our scattered dreams,
searching and finding the pieces that fit in place,
chased away the lie that we were broken to the seams,
together we learned again to love, hope and believe in grace.

The world ahead is now ours together to explore,
to discover, appreciate and learn to love who we are,
to know that our faith and love will lead to so much more,
to know understanding, support, and love is never far,
to know we have all we need just inside our door,
to know that you will always be my morning star,
that your loving light shines into my darkest hours,
that you bring me back to the beautiful creation we are,
that you paint the desert with your beautiful flowers,
Every morning I wake in the light of my morning star.
