I dug up this photo from the archives. I miss when the Merrimack Canal at Lucy Larcom Park used to be lit up. The colors used to vary depending on the day and whatever was happening.

With the Lowell Folk Festival a week away and me winning an ASMP National Judge’s Choice Award for a photo I took at the festival a couple of years ago, I find myself reminiscing about a commercial video project I worked on for the City of Lowell EcoDev Office/Like Lowell last year. I was tasked with creating a video highlighting the festival, and the video could only be 15 seconds long. The video consisted of footage I had previously filmed while working the festival, including drone work. This video aired on TV numerous times and was featured on the festival’s website landing page. This was one of those projects that I couldn’t help but feel proud of in every aspect. I’m not working at the festival this year, but I’m looking forward to attending and being able to enjoy the festival.

The model lineup for this Sunday’s Hunt's Photo & Video portfolio building portrait shootout event in Melrose just dropped. This is a great opportunity to learn and create amazing photos. 6 models, 4-6 different sets, 2 2.5-hour time slots to choose from (10am or 1:30pm), free parking, Sony | Alpha will have free camera and lens loaners available for you to test, and Sony will be running a contest with a chance to win a great prize. I’m teaming up with Hunt's Photo & Video, Sony | Alpha, Tony Gale, and Pickles McCornichons for Creative Portrait Shootout: A Hands-On Styled Portrait Experience on July 12th. There's two different sessions to choose from.

Styled sets, cinematic lighting, color, motion, six models, and plenty of room to experiment, shoot, and connect with other creatives.

Which slide hits hardest? Made a little fire without setting anything on fire.

Every effect here was created in camera with Westcott Lighting lights, a Practical Magic & Innovation SmokeNinja Pro, and Prism Lens FX. Two FJ400 IIs, an FJ250, an FJ80 II, haze, and a little controlled chaos. Message me with any questions.
