My dad, Julia, and I hung our three generation ArtPrize piece today in the lobby of the Courtyard Downtown Grand Rapids. ArtPrize opens next week on September 17 and runs through October 9. Being in the lobby of a major hotel, you can view our piece at your convince. We have done ArtPrize every year and this year we are excited to have Julia be a part of it and making it a three generation piece. She used oil paints to connect my dad’s and my photos into one Point to Point scene. Big Sable Point Lighthouse to Little Sable Point Lighthouse.

This is the center of our Artprize 2026 piece. We printed a 30x84 inch gallery wrapped canvas. The left side has one of my Big Sable Point Lighthouse photos printed. The right side has one of my dad’s Ludington North Breakwater Light photos printed. We left the center blank when we printed and stretched it. Then Julia hand painted with oils an amazing rendition of Little Sable Point Lighthouse that blended them all into one cohesive piece. This will be on display in the lobby of the Courtyard Downtown Grand Rapids for Artprize 2026 from September 17 through October 9.

My dad captured "Positive Energy" 12 years ago tonight at 11:27pm at Crosswinds. The Ludington North Breakwater Light was getting blasted by massive bolts of lightning. Nikon D800. F10 at 30 seconds, ISO 800 with a 500mm Nikkor lens at 500mm off of a Gitzo tripod. This photo is dedicated to our aunt, Carol Garneau. My dad shot this photo out of her bedroom window. Even facing death, Aunt Carol was “shaking the love around” and had the most positive spirit and her energy filled every room she was ever in. I think this was her saying goodbye like only she could ♥️

We are taking final orders until Saturday, September 5th until 4pm. The online shopping part of our website is under construction. You can browse and figure out what you want and in what size and format, and then call your order in at 231-843-0777. Leave a detailed message if we don’t answer and we will call you back. If your message is in before the deadline, we will count it, even if we don’t get back to you for a few days. We are currently open Mondays and Tuesdays 12:30-4pm. Wednesdays through Saturdays 9-5pm. Closed Sundays. Closed on Labor Day. Browse at ToddandBradReed.com If you want the same quality printing you are used to from us, order before 4pm on Saturday.
