What a BEAUTIFUL morning here in Washington, DC. ☀️📸

People ask me all the time, “How do you get up that early?” “Why would you willingly wake up before the sun?” 😂

The answer is pretty simple: when you’re doing something you genuinely love, you’re willing to do the hard things for it.

The early alarms. The dark drives into DC. The tired mornings. And then I get here, watch the sun come up over the city, camera in hand, and remember exactly why I do it.

When you love what you do, getting out of bed isn’t the hard part—it’s getting yourself to leave when the session is over. ❤️📸

There’s something pretty special about getting to photograph a family through different chapters of their lives. ❤️

I first met this beautiful family of four a couple of years ago, right before their son headed off to college. Fast-forward to now, and I had the opportunity to photograph them again for a family session — but this one came with a couple of pretty amazing milestones!

Their son is now celebrating his college graduation, while his younger sister is celebrating her middle school graduation! 🎓🎓

Of course, we captured plenty of graduation photos, but we also made sure to document Mom, Dad, their son and daughter together as a family.

Kids grow. Chapters change. Milestones come and go. But having photographs of your family together through all of it? That’s something you’ll always have. ❤️

Congratulations to both graduates — and to the whole family on such an exciting season of life!

There’s just something magical about summer evenings by the water—the golden light, bare feet in the sand, kids splashing around, and those genuine moments that happen when everyone can simply have FUN together.

My 2027 Annapolis Beach Sunset Sessions are officially booking, and these are some of my most sought-after sessions every year. Because I only photograph one session per evening, right before sunset, availability is extremely limited.
