I can’t wait for this event on Sunday! I am a huge book nerd and I love going to Bookfest and speaking with all the authors, browsing all the books, talking with the sellers and just seeing other fellow bookies who are there to hang out and have fun. This is my favorite event to photograph every year! 📸📚📸

The ninth annual Detroit Festival of Books, better known as Detroit Bookfest, returns Sunday with more than 300 booksellers, authors, publishers, artists, and other vendors from across the U.S. and Canada.

Look at this little guy! 💙 At just 10 months old, he's already stealing hearts with that adorable smile and those sweet little expressions. It was such a joy capturing this fun stage of life and all of his sweet personality. Thank you for trusting me to capture these precious moments before he's off and running. It was a very warm evening, but the Garrisi family made every minute worth it. Three generations together, surrounded by nothing but love, laughter, and genuine connection.

Watching grandparents with their grandkids, sisters catching up, cousins playing together, and everyone simply enjoying being together was such a joy to capture. These are the moments that become treasured memories, and I'm so grateful to preserve them.

This is what summer memories are made of. 💙🌲

Three generations together, a long holiday weekend Up North, and a whole lot of laughter.

Parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins... everyone gathered at the cottage for the holiday weekend filled with laughter, lake days, and making memories. There's something magical about getting everyone in one place, the pace slows down, the kids run free, grandparents soak up every minute with their grandkids, and before you know it, another summer becomes a cherished family memory.

One of my favorite things about extended family sessions is watching the connections between generations. The hugs from grandparents, cousins who are instant best friends, and parents seeing their own children make the same kinds of memories they grew up with—those are the moments that become part of a family's story.

This family was an absolute joy to spend time with. From the moment I arrived, you could tell how much they genuinely love being together. They laughed, teased one another, hugged often, and made my job so easy. Those are the sessions I love most—the ones that feel less like a photoshoot and more like stepping into a family's story.

Thank you for letting me spend a little bit of your holiday weekend with you. I hope that years from now these photos bring you right back to this place, this weekend, and all the memories you made together. 💙
