I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

I have my first weekend totally off in weeks, and as a solo small business owner, that doesn’t happen very often! I’m never truly “off,” of course, so I’ll probably spend some time catching up on editing, but I’m also making sure to enjoy some time with family and friends.

And what better way to spend a little time catching up than sharing this sweet little girl’s newborn session?

While I absolutely love the beautiful, styled portraits we create in my studio, in-home newborn sessions have a magic all their own.

These sessions are relaxed and natural, and there’s no need for everything to be perfect. It’s really about capturing your family just as you are during those first precious days with your new baby. I do bring a few little touches from the studio along with me, so we can capture some sweet newborn portraits too.

I love that these sessions are so unique to each family and their home. I loved spending time with this sweet family and documenting a little piece of their life together.

Proof that even a craft-fail can learn a thing or two.

I’m the mom who once stayed up until 2 AM making a birthday cake, only to throw it in the trash and make a very early morning grocery store run for a replacement.

And yet, somehow, I’ve been making balloon garlands for my cake smash sessions for years!

This one took about an hour, and I have to say… I’m pretty proud of how it turned out.

No photos of the actual cake smash this time because these sweet parents chose to keep their baby off social media — so you get a little peek behind the scenes instead.

Its best to book your newborn session before baby arrives to secure a spot on my calendar. I just pencil in your due date but we won't actually schedule the session date until your baby is born.

Welcome to the world sweet baby Margaret! This sweet little peanut was an absolute dream to photograph. We captured the incredible love her mom and dad have for their little girl. Incorporated a beautiful variety of colors and props, and even included a special nod to their love for the Atlanta Braves.
