Belle is a black shepherd and a service dog. I got to meet her at a private dog park near Madison recently. She was there with her family on a beautiful fall evening. So many warm days this year, the dogs are (mostly) so happy to be outside finally!

Lindy (on the left) is trying to egg her big brother Aero into playing with her during a recent photo session up near Portage. These guys were friendly and aloof as expected but that big, deep WOOF when I walked up to the house was a little disconcerting! 😆

I got a call from one of my favorite frenemies's, minor Madison celebrity John Urban recently. He was working on a video for the non-profit group Dogs on Call and was wondering if I'd be able to do some still shots for them. I agreed (mostly because I didn't want him to get great shots of them) and so 12 teams were scheduled and photographed to be used in the video and for a website refresh.

Dogs on Call is in their 26th year and it's main purpose: "We offer a “matching” service for medical, residential, and educational facilities requesting visits from therapy dogs and outreach programs to promote the benefits of animal-assisted interactions."

Dogs and handlers helping people. How could I say no? We had fun, they get a video and photos. And I got to meet everything from a Mini Bernedoodle to a Small Munsterlander to a Great Pyrenees! (That's Sue and Luna in the photo)

Losing a dedicated friend like Koba is never easy. Neither is photographing a goodbye. I feel like I lose a little piece of my heart everytime I have a session like this.

Welcome to the force K9 Chico of the Fitchburg Police Department! We had a nice photo shoot recently. Maybe not as nice for the officer in the bite suit.
